I love tea. I really do. So when there was a chance to review some new tea I jumped at the chance and was delighted to see the new flavours they had picked to send to me.

In the box there were four different boxes. Each one a different blend, each one a box with 20 individually wrapped tea bags. I did check the packaging to see if they were plastic free tea bags but couldn’t find any recycling information on there which might be a good idea to pop on in the future.

The first tea I tried was the After Meals tea. It smells divine, I love herbal teas and even though the herbs in this one have big flavours, Caraway, Rosemary and Peppermint, the flavour of the tea was delightfully subtle and not over powering in any way. A great balance for after meals, I think if they were stronger it would have put me off but I was pleasantly surprised that I loved it. It would take something special to knock my Clipper Fennel tea off the top spot for my after dinner drink, but this has!

The second was the Moment of Relaxation tea. I am a big fan of Camomile tea (I drink it almost daily in the afternoon) and am actually really picky about what brand I buy as I like it to be sweet and not bitter so I was a little worried about having the anise addition. I needn’t have been worried. It is beautiful. Again it is subtle and just the right amount of anise. I would definitely buy this one again.

The third tea in the box was the Good Night tea, made with Liquorice, mint and vervain. This tea claims to help calm and soothe ready for a good nights rest. I was a little worried about the liquorice as I am usually not a fan at all. Once brewed it smells a little like the Relaxation tea but with a slight edge to it. Even though I liked this one, it was a little lemony for me personally to drink before bed but earlier on in the day yes. It also had a very sweet after taste which I wasn’t sure about which might have come from the liquorice.

Again I wasn’t expecting to like the Silhouette from the fourth box because it too has liquorice in it. So much so that I left it until last. However this one turned out to be my favourite of the four! It has a great balance of the liquorice (so much that I couldn’t taste it) cherry, hibiscus, anise and mint. It tastes best when it has cooled a little and is just warm enough to drink proper mouthfuls and not sipping. This one interestingly is aimed not only at digestion, but at lowering blood pressure, anti inflammatory and a diuretic so think it would be perfect for those with water infections. It’s a little on the sweet side, I think it’s the hibiscus coming through but you don’t notice it until half way down the cup and it isn’t enough to stop me from finishing the cup. I would never have picked this box off the shelf, but I absolutely love it! Thank you Sultan Tea for getting me to push my boundaries and try something I would never have tried.

I am very interested in how herbs can benefit the body and am very impressed with the amount of work that has clearly gone into these teas and the website!

I was curious about the tea as the boxes don’t really have a lot of information on them so I went to have a look at their website. I really like their website!!! It has everything you need to know about the ingredients, how to drink it and why those ingredients are important in that blend. They also have a really cool Mood Meter, which helps you choose the right tea for you based on how you’re feeling. For example when I clicked excited, I had Ambar with Orange Blossom and Moroccan Mint suggested. I clicked bloated and had the After Meals tea mentioned above suggested. It’s a clever little addition to the website. They also have lots of offers on at the moment and so many more teas to try!

The boxes I tried are on the website for £3.99 each or you can take out a subscription to have tea delivered weekly or monthly.  I give this tea 5 out of 5. I might not have had the taste for the liquorice but the quality was spot on and the flavours of the others perfect and subtle. Very clever blending.
