I have 2 boys and we have spent many an afternoon transforming cardboard boxes into rockets to blast off into space.
When we received the book I honestly do not know who was more excited to get it open, me, my 8 year old or my toddler.
It is a large colourful book (34.5cm x 34.5cm) that folds out to a play mat, but the real magic is it folds into a rocket shape. My boys unfolded the book into the mat and looked at the picture of the made up rocket that was in the cellophane and copied to make the rocket. The rocket is secured with straps that have Velcro attached. There is a little door that opens to allow easy access and a small window to peer through.
Although suited for toddlers aged 3-6 years old both boys fitted inside tightly. Now not only does the book fold into the shape of a rocket, but the outside is designed to look like a rocket. I was most excited by the rocket boosters! Inside the rocket is the story.
It is always lovely when siblings play nicely together and to hear them chattering away playing and counting down to blast off was fantastic.
Both boys loved the book my eldest even said it was “EPIC”.
Whilst rainy days and Sundays are made for cardboard box creations, we now no longer have to wait until we have one big enough to make a rocket. We can explore the universe anytime we like.
This book is fantastic, colourful and durable. A sure fire hit with all space adventurers.
Suitable for age 3-6 years.
There are 9 different convertible stories in the range: Bulldozer, Fire Engine, My Four-Wheel Drive, My Pink Car, Pirate Ship, Princess Carriage, School Bus, Spaceship and Train.
