What a great creation by Canal Toys and, a cool twist on DIY Slime Fun!

I am an absolute huge fan of any toy that encompasses sensory and interactive play. I find it is extremely important for any child’s development and Toys ’N’ Tuck did not disappoint with this product.

I particularly love the colours this slime kit has to offer. Other than the clear coloured slime, the other colours shout out vibrant, loud and bright and they really are a great way to keep any child engaged in the whilst playing. The colours are as follows:-

COLOURS
Yellow
Pink
Blue
Yellow
Green
Teal
White
Purple

DELIVERY PACKAGING
The item itself was only wrapped in some kind of black sticky plastic. I did not like that for 2 reasons, 1, it does not protect the actual product from being damaged in terms of dents and 2, the plastic is not recyclable.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT
This comes secured in a box with an array of amazingly beautiful, bright and bold colours. The images of the ice machine really did get my taste buds going and could not wait to get started with my 9 year old grandson. He is autistic and this is kit is great for sensory play, development and Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, also known as ASMR. This term can help to calm and relax. His attention span increases along with some interaction with touch, feel and visual. It is amazing to watch him. We have it stored the kit in a cupboard with his Slime collection which he knows where it is and whilst he does not talk much or very well, he will take my hand, walk me to the cupboard and point to it. This melted my heart.

If your child is into slime (and let’s face it, most are), the SO SLIME Ice Machine offers a playful and imaginative twist on traditional slime-making kits. Designed to look like a mini ice cream or slushy machine, this toy is all about mixing, decorating, and playing with fluffy, textured slimes that mimic icy treats—without any actual mess from real food.

First Impressions
Right out of the box, the SO SLIME Ice Machine has serious visual appeal. Its design is bright, colourful, and very “child-friendly” with a fun vending machine vibe. The packaging is engaging, showcasing the textures and styles of slime children can make. Assembly is minimal and straightforward, which is a plus for busy parents or impatient little hands.

What Is Included
The kit comes with slime powders, scent beads, mix-in fake sprinkles and cute little containers shaped like ice cream cups. You also get the “ice machine” itself, which is essentially a slime mixer and dispenser with a handle. All the ingredients are pre-measured, just add water and mix, which makes this a low mess activity that children can mostly do on their own (depending on age).

How It Works
Using the SO SLIME Ice Machine is fairly simple. Pour in the slime powder, add water to the fill line, and then crank the handle to “mix” the slime. After a short wait (usually 5–10 minutes), the slime starts to thicken and becomes stretchy and squishy. Once the base slime is ready, they can mix in colourful decorations and scent beads to personalise their creations.

The mixing part, although fun and visually satisfying, is more about imaginative play than actual functionality, it doesn’t mix thoroughly like a real mixer, so expect some help to be needed in the final stirring stage. That said, children will likely enjoy the process and love pretending they’re making icy treats.

Quality & Play Value
The slime itself is surprisingly good quality for a kit. It comes out soft, stretchy, and not too sticky (as long as the water measurements are accurate). The textures vary slightly based on the combinations, which keeps things interesting. Some slimes feel fluffier or more squishy, while others have more of a gooey, stretchy pull.

The included scent beads add a light fragrance—nothing overpowering—and the mix-ins are fun, though they can fall out during play if not pressed in well. The “ice machine” component adds a novelty factor, making this more engaging than a typical slime tub.

One bonus: the kit is refillable. Once you run out of the original slime powders, you can use other slime refills (or your own DIY mixtures) and still use the machine for pretend play and mixing.

Educational Benefits
Encourages Colour Recognition: Through matching activities, children become adept at identifying and naming colours.
Developing Hand-Eye Coordination: The act of posting cards into the houses requires precision and control, aiding motor skill development.
Cognitive Learning and Development: Such as eye and hand co-ordination.

GOOD TO KNOW
Easy-to-use setup
Low mess, no glue required
Slime quality is decent and satisfying
Refillable and reusable machine
On the instructions leaflet is a barcode that once you scan it, will take you to a video that shows you a snipped on how to make the milkshake and other products. Here is the link to have a look:- https://media.4rgos.it/v/Argos/7444164_R_Video001/mp4_480p?protocol=https
On the back of the instructions, it does point out that they contain fragrances that may cause allergies. There were some aromas but nothing that was overpowering and we were both ok.

The concept is to ‘Create’, ‘Decorate’, ‘Share It (take a picture and show others) and then Crush It. All of this created so much fun and before I had a chance to get a picture of the completed milkshake, my grandson could not wake to crush it. We did not get chance to make it again before he went home which was a shame as I would have like to get a picture of the finished product.

With regard to the sprinkles, they do get mixed-up with the slimes if you crush it all, maybe, if you had the time and patience, you could pick them off. It really is just a personal preference.

AGE GROUP
6 years and upwards. Younger children may need help with measurements and tidying up. As always with slime kits, parental supervision is key, especially during the mixing stage, to avoid water spills or misuse of scent beads.

The SO SLIME Ice Machine is not just another slime kit; it is a themed experience that combines tactile fun with imaginative play. While the mixer itself is more of a fun prop than a serious tool, the entire setup makes slime creation feel like a special treat. For slime-loving children, especially those who enjoy role-play or food-themed toys, this adds a new level of excitement.

It is a great pick for rainy days, or slime-making sessions with friends and family, either inside our out on a nice day. It may not be the most advanced slime maker on the market, but it delivers fun, hands on creativity in a very child-friendly package.

All in all, we had great fun. This would make for an ideal gift whether it is for birthday, just because or, dare I say it; Christmas is only 5 months away, so why not start shopping now.
