Both myself and my 22 month year old son went to watch the Snow White musical comedy stage production. I decided to drive from Eccles in Manchester to the King George’s Hall in Blackburn. Once we arrived in Blackburn the theatre was well signposted, at first I worried about getting a parking space but I was happy to find there where a few small car parks down a street pretty much facing the front of the theatre.

The lady on the ticket desk was helpful, she handed me our tickets and a steward took us to our seats, there were quite a lot of steps to climb. The seats where really comfy and we had a brilliant view!

We were there to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which has been updated for the 21st Century – for starters, the dwarves have been renamed: Droopy, Snotty, Freeky, Snoozy, Moody, Giggles and Blushful.

Once the show started we could clearly hear and see the cast, the lighting and special effects where very good such as pretend snow falling from above.

The actors costumes where really colourful, my son was scared of the witch but soon overcome that when he saw Snow White and the dwarfs. There were also acrobatic moves and ariel fabric acts where the performer swung out over the audience and did fantastic moves in the air!

The actors also involved the audience a lot with shooting water through water pistols, and getting the audience to repeat what they were saying which was fun and funny!

There was an interval half way through which gave us the opportunity to stretch our legs, use the toilet and to buy any beverages or snacks, we could either eat/drink them in the bar area or in the theatre whilst watching the performance which made it feel very homely and cosy.

I also believe that there is a bar and restaurant at the hall, next time we will definitely be dining there!

This is the first pantomime my son’s has been too and he really enjoyed it I shall definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for future pantomimes. A very good morning and would definitely recommended Snow White…
