Smiggle Advent Calendar Review

Smiggle is a relatively new company to the UK high street market, after it was established in 2003 in Australia it swiftly spread across the globe and could be found in the UK by 2014, even launching a ‘shop in shop’ within Harrods and Selfridges. Smiggle has very quickly become one of the most sought after brands amongst anyone wanting school, lifestyle or stationery products which make a statement. As well as stationery, Smiggle ha s great range of toys, bags, pencil cases, watches, a great range of ‘pocket money’ items and more. I have seen the advent calendar in previous years and this year we were lucky enough to get one and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Smiggle prides itself on being colourful, fun, unique and on trend, everything about the calendar from the packaging down to the gifts certainly hit the mark as far as we are concerned.

The calendar was constructed of really good quality card (easy to recycle once you have finished with the calendar) and printed with a design which I thought was well suited to younger children, the calendar has an age recommendation of 6 plus so it did fit this quite well, it is not suitable for children under 3 years due to some of the smaller parts within the gifts behind the doors. Once you start opening the doors there are treats galore for the stationery lover in your life. I think it is a great way to count down to the big day. The stationery included in the calendar is not only up to the usual smiggle standard but it is also limited edition. So if you know someone who likes to be a trend setter, or you have young people who like to be the first to get the new edition then this calendar is definitely for them. There was something nice about knowing we had things that were not available all year round.

We loved the fact that behind one of the doors we got a pencil case as it meant we had somewhere to keep all of our smiggle goodies each day. Our favourite surprise was the rainbow pen as we loved being able to change ink colour whilst writing, we also really liked the mini paint pallet. Alongside these we also got a keyring, lanyard (great for dinner card or hand sanitizer bottle at school), bag tag, erasers, stickers, notepad, mini pens, and more. Another favourite was the spy pen, great for writing secret coded messages. In comparison to other calendars on the market it is nice to have something a bit different and I think in terms of value for money this calendar goes above and beyond. There is an added bonus also as there are 30 huge smiggle shopping sprees up for grabs. All you have to do is find one of the hidden tickets in your calendar to win. This calendar is definitely something I would buy again another year and would also make a fantastic gift.
