It was great to have the opportunity to review the Slumber Calm Slumber Pod as a comparison to another sleep aid that we had purchased for our grandson previously that was not having the desired effect. At seven months he was awake numerous times throughout the night.

We found a couple of really good features that our current one failed on and that was a great volume range which is a great asset if you are out and about to block out other noises. We did find this worked really well whilst shopping and at a recent Pumpkin event there were lots of very loud children about. The ability to be able to attach to the pram, car seat and bouncer is also a real asset as it seems to have a real calming effect when out and about and it’s small enough to fit in the baby bag or even a handbag. The ease of use was great too with explanatory buttons for even the most tech Phobe individuals to be able to understand.

The fact that it is portable if it is a real bonus and after the first time of charging it was still showing no signs of needing additional charging after three days.

The diverse selection of audio was also really good from white noise, heartbeat, crackling fire to nature and wildlife. As an adult I actually found if relaxing myself too so will be using it by my bedside when I have trouble sleeping in the future.

So, what’s the verdict? It’s not magic, however, the first night he only woke up twice, second night once and on the third night from seven in the evening till six the next morning. Yes, it could be coincidental but it’s very likely the Slumber Pod had an impact on this. Night four not so good with a couple of breaks in sleep and night five only once.

We will continue to test it out and it is a massive improvement on the results we were getting from the other sleep aid we had purchased and the SlumberPod was quite a bit cheaper too. We are due to be doing long haul travel soon so it will be interesting to see what the outcome of using the SlumberCalm on the flight will have.

A couple of things we noticed that we would have preferred would be for the pod to have a dimmer option as the light is quite bright also it is suggested that red light promotes sleep whilst this is a while light but strangely seems to have had a better effect that the one we had purchased that had a red light.
