Silver Serum is a generously sized face cream manufactured by Skin Shop .It’s a smart anti-bacterial serum for skin, which contains silver that Skin Shop claim kills the bad bacteria on your skin, while helping the good bacteria. It costs £12.95 for 50ml which at first seems quite expensive for a face cream, but it does last a long time, so I consider it to be very good value for money. My daughter (aged 14) and I (age 40) have each been using it twice a day, every day, for more than 3 weeks now and there is still about a week’s worth of product left, which is pleasing.

The packaging is sensible, safe to travel with and secure with a screw top lid as opposed to a flip lid. The serum has a fairly neutral, inoffensive smell and the serum glides onto your skin smoothly and easily. When applied to greasier T-zones of a teenage face it does leave a slight sheen, but this quickly soaks in. When applied my own medium to dry skin there was no sheen after application and make up could be applied straight away.

My daughter, like most teenage girls, suffers with both bacterial and hormonal acne on her face and was keen to try this new product. After a week, she noticed that the small bacterial spots were looking calmer and after a fortnight infact disappearing. She kept using the serum day and night and cleansing as usual and is really pleased with the results on her bacterial spots. Her face does seem fresher and brighter looking and she is keen to continue using this.

I suffer myself from rosacea on my cheeks and I was hoping that this product would solve the problem. As a day and night cream I really like the way it applies smoothly and non-greasily. I do not suffer with t-zone problem areas, so the serum soaked into my skin evenly and only a little was needed to cover my face. I have not been using another face cream for the last few weeks as I wanted to see the effects that the Silver Serum has on its own. Soon after application the redness in my cheeks does seem to lessen, and my cheeks are certainly less itchy and sore. After a few hours however the redness is back. However, I do have quite a wide area of rosacea on my face and I believe that someone with less of a problem may find this serum works better on their skin. I would buy it again for myself more as a moisturiser and skin protector.

All in all I really like the serum – it is super to find a product suitable for teens through to adults and one that is such good value for money. When used on purely bacterial spots and or slight rosacea I believe the product would have incredibly positive results.

I would be keen to buy this again.
