Like most parents of a little girl aged between 2-10, I seem to spend my life listening to renditions of ‘Let It Go’ and ‘Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?’ My 5 year old daughter is Frozen mad, her dad and I, less so, but having the opportunity to take her to see Sing-A-Long-A Frozen, couldn’t really resist.
We use St George’s Hall quite regularly, and it’s really conveniently located in the centre of Bradford. We usually drive in and use the super close NCP car park across the road, but given it was the penultimate shopping Saturday before Christmas, I really didn’t fancy driving and parking. Instead, we caught the direct train from Leeds to Bradford Interchange, which is immediately across the road from the theatre. It couldn’t have been easier, and I think we might use the train for future visits.
The theatre was full to the rafters with little Elsa’s, Anna’s and Olaf’s, all really excited for the upcoming show. This isn’t a theatre show as such, but an interactive showing of the full Frozen movie, compared by Olaf the snowman and the two princesses.
From the very start, all of the children seemed entranced. They were all given ‘goody bags’ upon entry containing props to make noises at various points of the film. Throughout the showing, the children were encouraged to shout out, sing along and join in with the dance moves.
At various points and songs, the princesses came into the audience and again, all of the children seemed delighted by this. The highlight for my daughter was the ‘real snow’ that was sprayed into the audience; at this point, most of the kids got up to sing and dance in the snow.
It really was excellent, my daughter and every other child I saw was having an absolute ball. The opportunity for them to dress up and interact with the show was superb. There was an interval about half way through, which given the age of the audience was a good thing. My daughter was ready to go for a walk by then. I really couldn’t fault the day.
The staff at the theatre were excellent as always, and very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.
We would recommend to any little Frozen fan.
