When I first opened the package containing the Scavi & Ray Alcohol-Free Prosecco Gift Box my first thought was “this would be an awesome gift to receive” for Christmas. The gift box was big and shiny and looked really impressive, I couldn’t wait to look inside.
Upon opening the box I wasn’t disappointed, it contained a bottle of Scavi & Ray Alcohol-Free Prosecco and two Scavi & Ray branded prosecco flutes which were beautifully presented. There was also a personal gift card and some information about the Scavi & Ray brand which was a lovely touch. The box itself is really sturdy and is a great quality product.
I didn’t waste any time in popping the bottle of Alcohol-Free Prosecco into the fridge to chill ready for the taste test later that evening. I have to confess to being a bit dubious as to what it might taste like as my previous experiences of alcohol-free wine, years ago when I was pregnant with my eldest son, were not great but having read all of the information on the Scavi & Ray website, I could see that their alcohol-free prosecco is made from the same Glera grape that is used in the standard Prosecco and that is has been put through a unique process to produce the full-flavoured sparkling product that maintains the quality of the alcoholic version so it all sounded very positive.
On popping the cork (quite a tricky process as it was very firmly wedged!) we poured the prosecco into the glasses provided and had a sip. We were both very pleasantly surprised as the Prosecco had a lovely fruity taste, it was very bubbly, and a real mid-week treat which we could enjoy but not feel guilty at drinking on a “school night”. The drink itself was quite yellow in colour, more-so than its alcoholic counterpart but in a blind taste test you may struggle to identify this as a non-alcoholic version. We both loved the taste of this and I would highly recommend it as a non-alcoholic alternative to Prosecco. I was also impressed with the prosecco glasses as they felt really good quality and sturdy and are now a lovely addition to our glass collection.
This gift set would make a lovely Christmas gift for an expectant mum or someone who doesn’t drink alcohol. It is a real indulgent treat and I would be thrilled to receive this for Christmas, especially if I was unable to drink alcohol. In fact, I would have loved to have been given this as a gift when I was pregnant as Christmas was hard going without being able to fully indulge. It would also be an amazing gift to give a new mum on the birth of their baby.
Another look on the Scavi & Ray website shows me that the product is very much aimed at mums-to-be and has received an accolade at the Made for Mums Awards in 2018.
