Royal London by Karen Pierce-Goulding Review

The Haunts and Hideouts of Kings and Queens From London's Past and Present

Reviewed by Michelle Wright

Written by one of London Walks most experienced guides, this compact book will tell you everything you need to know and where it happened to our Great British Royal Family around London. The book contains facts of which are the favourite shopping places of our current Royal Family, history behind some of the areas in London such as Honor Oak; where Queen Elizabeth 1 took a picnic under an Oak Tree on May Day 1602 and background detail on some of the more well-known Royal places such as Clarence House.

I found this book so interesting and enjoyed matching up places I have visited and finding out the Royal history behind the names of those places… it may sometimes seem that the life of the Royals is a million miles away from everyday life in London, but in actual fact they are in our life and our language in more ways than you know!

A great way to see London in a different light!
