Having been asked to review the Rehab London Grooming Products I was delighted but a little unsure of what to expect. Many male grooming products on the market today make claims about their qualities that sound fantastic on paper but just don’t really get delivered when you use them. However, I needn’t have worried – I was not disappointed at all with this range of products!

The Rehab London Grooming Range currently consists of six products designed to help with cleansing, moisturising, shaving and reviving;

Scrub Up Daily Detox (cleansing) RRP £9.95

Shine Free (moisturising) RRP £15.95

Morning Glory (moisturising) RRP £15.95

Calm Balm (shaving) RRP £14.95

Argan Oil Shaving Gel (shaving) RRP £8.95

Revive Survive (reviving) RRP £17.95

When the products arrived, the first thing that I noticed was the style and quality of the packaging. Each product arrived individually packaged in a small cardboard box – perhaps a little unnecessary for products bought in store, but providing an excellent extra layer of protection for those ordered via the internet. The interior packaging of each product appears to be of excellent quality and is very solid (a benefit for those who may sometimes consider themselves to be a little clumsy first thing in the morning). It is made clear on www.rehablondon.co.uk that the company endeavours to use ‘Planet Friendly Packaging’ wherever possible meaning that where they can they use materials made from recycled sources – another added bonus before you’ve even tested the product.

The design of all the packaging is very carefully thought out from start to finish. Each product is clearly and simply labelled, graphically design to suit male tastes and displays information in a straightforward manner. Two points are made clear immediately on looking at each product; first, natural ingredients are used and all the products are free from DEAs, parabens. SLSs, sulfates, silicones and palm oil products as well as providing protection from UVA and UVB rays; second, all of the products are animal friendly – Rehab London does not condone animal testing and all products are tested on those they are intended for – men! Again, more positives before even using the products, knowing that a something does not use natural ingredients or is tested on animals is enough to put some people off even purchasing a product.

Each product is labelled, at the rear, with its own very clear instructions that are easy to follow even if it is a type of product that you have not previously used. The instructions are displayed in four languages as well increasing the chances that the product will appeal to a large range of people.

It is great to have all six products available to use because it means that however your skin is feeling there is something that you can use to compliment it. However, I find it quite unlikely that I will use all six at the same time or in one go which is why I have tested them in different combinations to see how they all work together. I have found that although I have my ‘favourites’ all of the products complement each other very well without leaving unpleasant residues that you are sometimes left with when using other brands.

The ‘Scrub Up Daily Detox’ is excellent for use once or twice a day as a general cleanser. It is quite gentle on the skin but always leaves it feeling very clean and refreshed – a super way of helping you to wake up properly on those early mornings! Previous cleansers that I have used have occasionally left my face feeling clean but quite dry – I do not have such an issue with this particular product and according to the added information on the packaging it seems to be because Pumpkin Seed Oil is one of the ingredients – not something that I know much about, but it seems to work, so I’m not complaining!

‘Morning Glory’ is a moisturiser designed for normal to dry skin and ‘Shine Free’ is a lotion designed for oily skin – both very good products. I don’t know about everybody else, but I find that whilst my skin would probably usually be in the ‘normal to dry’ category there are occasions where parts of my face feel a bit more oily. The reasons for this could be anything from the weather to diet to general wellbeing at the time, but it having both of them available for use is brilliant because depending on the situation I can choose which is going to be best. Both products soak into the skin quickly and leave it feeling soft but without that annoying shine you can get from some other brands.

Now for the shaving products! I have some favourites from the whole Rehab London range, but top of the list has got to be the ‘Argan Oil Shaving Gel’. It really is like putting an oil on your face – very easy to spread across the skin and only requires a small amount to cover the whole area. It is much easier to use this product when shaving than the usual creams, gels, or foams and it feels a lot cleaner too. I have found that when using the ‘Argan Oil Shaving Gel’, I have no redness post shave and, rather than feeling dry, my face feels very soft and refreshed. I haven’t come across anything like it before and will certainly be buying more of it!

The ‘Calm Balm’ is also an excellent product designed to be used on skin that has become irritated by shaving. Due to the quality of the ‘Argan Oil Shaving Gel’ I do not find it necessary to use the balm after each shave – alternating every other time does the trick. However, it does have another hidden quality (well, not really hidden, it suggests it on the rear of the bottle!) – it can be used as a soothing balm after exposure to different weather! This is something that I find exceptionally useful because living by the sea means that that weather can change very quickly and have an immediate impact on your skin, but a small amount of this product applied to clean skin soon rectifies any issues.

Last but not least comes ‘Revive Survive’ (the anti-fatigue cream). This is a product that you will not need to use every day, although you can if you want to (day and night). Doing shift work is fine, but like many others I sometimes find that I feel a little run down or look more tired than usual and that is when this product comes in handy because it really soaks into the skin and somehow manages to make you look and feel more refreshed than you might be feeling. It obviously does not compensate for lack of sleep, etc. but if you are having one of those days when you wake up looking or feeling like you need a little help, this would probably do the trick.

In terms of value for money, the Rehab London range is not the cheapest – to buy all six products would cost you £83.70! However, assuming that you don’t have to replenish your stock of each item at the same time, I would still consider it to be very good value for money due to the quality of the products. Some will get used up more quickly than others, but it is still a much better buy than some of the cheaper options on the market that may last longer but have nowhere near the level of quality provided here. I will not only be purchasing more of these products in the future but will definitely be recommending them to family and friends as well. Good job, well done Rehab London!
