I was kindly sent the Chicco Rhythm n Sound to review and I can honestly say this week it has made our lives so much easier and calmer.

The Rhythm n Sound is a baby cradle that gently sways from side to side and plays soothing music and sounds, it is suitable from newborn to around 6 months. It arrived promptly packaged in a sensible sized box, some plastic was used to protect the swing in the box in transit but could be reused.

I followed the pictorial instructions to set up the cradle, they were not the easiest to decipher but not overly complicated to figure out, you do need a screwdriver for the legs of the base but other than that everything slots into place without difficulty. There are written instructions too which which are clearer and also tell you how to operate the cradle.

The cradle has 2 reclined positions, you lay baby down and fasten safely harness and using the buttons set the music and movement.

Some plus points to note are the Rhythm n Sound runs of the mains it means no chance of running out of power mid nap and saves money but it is worth mentioning that although a USB cable is included an adapter plug is not, this probably isn’t an issue in most homes now to be fair, we do have a few lying around. Batteries can be used instead if access to power is a problem.

It’s also brilliantly portable and can be folded down much smaller than other baby swings so can easily be taken to Grandparents for the day.

The cover can be removed easily for cleaning and is a smart plush grey, as a whole the quality feels sturdy and well made as you would expect from Chicco.

So we have had the Rhythm n Sound for nearly a week now and our baby girl loves it, I know this because she has snoozed away in it everyday sometimes twice a day. She usually cat naps, grabbing 20-30minutes here and there, often waking before she is ready unless you are holding her in which case she can nap for an hour more, she is notably more cheerful after a longer sleep but it’s not always practical to hold her while she sleeps with an older child and home to manage. This is where the Rhythm n Sound has been a game changer, I have been able to put my baby in the reclined cradle and she has been enjoying swaying to the music and lovely long naps I can only assume that the soothing motion encourages her back to sleep rather than waking between cycles. It’s meant I could use this time to focus on my eldest or get a few jobs done which any parent will tell you is no small feat with a baby.

The Chicco Rhythm n Sound is available from many online retailers for £99 which is well worth it in my opinion after all you can’t really put a price on a well rested baby and a more harmonious household.
