"I was so excited when this pack came through the post. My Mum had said some trading cards were coming and I was expecting a small pack of about 7 or 8 cards so I was amazed when I opened up this supercool looking pack! My best mate Noah and I played for an hour and a half and didn't even stop to eat our chocolate! Now Noah wants his own pack too!"

Mum's Verdict! Reviewed by Emma Legge
In the pack you get a deck of 60 Pokémon Cards, 1 Metallic Coin, counters and a playmat. It says on the pack that each player must have a deck of 60 cards of their own but William and Noah set themselves up with the pack without giving much thought to the instructions! Noah had played before but William was new to it, I'm fairly certain that they worked to their own rules but seeing as the first time they played, we didn't hear a peep out of them for nearly two hours and they've had subsequent long playing sessions since, then I'm not going to moan at them this time! I have to say, the instructions ARE complicated, the back of the playmat doubles as the instruction sheet and it's full of the card types, turn actions and special conditions. I feel that you would have to be a fair bit older than William to be able to play the game properly.

But I would buy this again, William has had endless fun and maybe, as he grows older, he'll get the idea of the true way to play and I've heard from Noah's Mum that she's already bought him the pack! This would make a great birthday gift for any Pokémon fan, but definitely not for younger players. The RRP of £9.99 is reasonable considering the amount of cards and the amount of playing hours William has already enjoyed.
