My family and I, which included my 3 young daughters, visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach on the Sat 4thAug 2012 we all had an amazing time. We got to the park for opening time for 10am and only had to queue briefly to gain entry. Upon entering we made our way anti-clockwise around all the thrill rides going on all of the them.  I never had to queue more than 20 minutes which was quite manageable the Big One being the longest. It did rain a few times but it didn’t spoil us having a great time as there were plenty of places to shelter and rain macs were quite reasonably cheap to buy. Having not been to the Pleasure Beach for a number of years we noticed a big change. The old amusement park from days gone by has been replaced by a much slicker, better quality park improving the look and feel of the Pleasure Beach, the difference is incredible.  The whole park was clean and well maintained with friendly, helpful staff close at hand at all times.

There is a good selection of rides for all ages and levels of bravery as well as plenty of choice for places to eat and drink. The Nickelodeon Land was also very enjoyable with 12 fantastic rides to suit all children! Sponge Bob Splash Bash was my daughter’s favourite they had a great time getting wet and soaking people with the water blasters.  Infusions was fun and the scariest ride. Revolution was enjoyable and for my daughters a backwards loop was something new and quite an experience.  Avalanche was enjoyable and the Steeplechase was more fun than it looked in the queue. the Big Dipper, Wild Mouse and Grand National are fun old fashioned wooden framed rides which though lacking the thrills of modern rides often make up for it with the sheer force you are thrown around the cars, the Grand National is fantastic my favourite ride and my daughters screamed all the way with excitement.  A word of advice Valhalla although thoroughly exciting beware I got soaked and I mean squelching trainers soaked. Dryers are on hand next to the ride to dry yourself . We saved the Big One till last and was quite exhilarating, a great ride to finish the day off with.

If I asked my daughters now there “favourite place on earth” then it’s fair to say that Blackpool Pleasure Beach would be top of their list. Altogether we were in the Park for 9 hours on the day and the whole family had thoroughly enjoyable day. A bit expensive but on the whole, well worth the money for a family treat.
