I was delighted when “ Planted Skincare” invited me to try two of their products, I love skin care products and always enjoy trying new ones, especially those with natural ingredients like these.

When I opened the cardboard box of “Nutrient rich face cream” and “Oil Cleanser” the products were nestled in natural straw, it all looked so wholesome and natural and I couldn’t wait to try it. All the packaging is recyclable by the way; this is a company committed to sustainability they even operate a system where they will provide a postage label for the customer to return 5 glass containers so they can reuse them. I find it so refreshing to find a company that doesn’t just pay lip service to sustainability because it’s fashionable but really put the effort in to do everything they can.

All these things are impressive but on top of all this the product has got to perform well.

First I tried the “oil cleanser with black cumin and raw honey “ it’s a gel like formula, imagine if honey wasn’t sticky that’s what it’s like, I was surprised at how quickly it emulsified into a cream when put on my face, it was almost immediate. It glided beautifully over my skin, there was no dragging and every trace of makeup was removed easily, even my mascara which most cleansers don’t do very well. My face was very clean after the first use but I enjoyed using it so much I did an indulgent second cleanse. The directions also suggest leaving the cleanser on for 5-10 minutes if you need extra nourishment which I think I’ll try once a week. It comes with a good sized muslin cloth for removing the cleanser I felt that the cloth also gave a gentle exfoliation effect.

I can honestly say the facial cleanse felt as good as any I’ve had in a salon and it was done in a few minutes at home.

After cleansing I tried the “nutrient rich face cream” which is a very rich cream and can be used day and night, only a small amount is needed, one pump was enough for my face, neck and décolleté. It has such a luxury feel I felt I was treating my skin to something special. I’m no spring chicken, my skin is not particularly dry but often looks dull and tired, but after applying this cream it looked much brighter, even glowing which I really liked it also felt more comfortable. Due to the richness of the cream I would have to wait a while for the cream to fully sink in before applying makeup but I don’t think this would be necessary for anyone with a dry skin.

All the products from “Planted” are hand made in Bristol with 100% natural ingredients (the raw honey is from a local bee keeper) they are made in small batches and suitable for all skin types.

Something not often offered by other skin care companies is a “happiness guarantee” giving a full refund within 30 days if you are not happy with the products, this is especially useful for anyone with sensitive skin and is reluctant to try anything new.
