Having not been able to get to my hairdresser during the lockdown, I recently decided to colour my hair myself at home. Big mistake! My hair feels so dry and was in need of some hydration to bring it back to life, so I was so excited to be chosen to review 4 products from the Phil Smith Total Treat range, my hair was definitely in need of a treat.

Phil Smith is an award winning celebrity stylist, with over 20 years experience. This range is designed to allow us ladies to Be Gorgeous every day. The package arrived promptly and I was keen to get going with trying these products open. I was sent 4 items from the Phil Smith collection, which were: Total Treat Indulgent Nourishing Shampoo, Total Treat Nourishing Conditioner, Total Treat Argan Oil Cream and Total Treat Transforming Argan Oil.

Total Treat Indulgent Nourishing Shampoo

This shampoo is designed to restore some life back into dry, damaged and coloured hair. It contains Moroccan   Argan oil to help improve the condition of your hair and to add shine.

The smell of the shampoo is not overpowering, which is a major positive to me as I have really bad allergies and string odours tend to set me off.

It comes in a lovely hot pink bottle in a 350ml bottle with direction and ingredients clearly stated on the back of the bottle.

Use is the same as any traditional shampoo, wet hair and lather in shampoo form root to ends and to repeat if needed. It recommends to follow the shampoo with the Total Treat Conditioner.

The shampoo also claims to protect from heat damage. This is a really big tick for me as I am really trying to look after my hair and any protection from regular heat appliances is a big bonus.

Total Treat Indulgent Nourishing Conditioner

This conditioner is recommended to follow on from the Total Treat Indulgent Nourishing Conditioner. It is a super rich conditioner containing Moroccan Argan Oil to help dry, damaged and colour treated hair to feel shiny, silky and protected.

The directions state to follow on from the total treat shampoo and to leave for two minutes. I like to leave for at least 10 minutes just for that extra conditioning.

The texture of the conditioner is really nice and I love the sweet smell it gives off. After washing off, I was able to run my fingers through my usually knotty hair so easily. It had definitely worked magic on my stressed out hair.

The packaging is similar to the shampoo but a different style bottle. The colours flow throughout the brand. It comes in a smaller amount as 250ml. Honestly, I prefer my conditioner to be larger than my shampoo as I use more of this.

Total Treat Transforming Argan Oil

This lightweight Argan Oil is described as your “new best friend” and I can tell you now that it really is my new best friend. It smells super sweet and Luxurious and makes my hair feel amazing. It locks in the moisture and adds to the super soft and silky feel of my hair.

It comes in a 50ml bottle which I would say is a large amount for an oil, which was impressive. The bottle links in with the rest of the brand with the pink and blue lettering but comes in a clear bottle.

For use, you apply a pea sized amount to the palms of your hands and apply to wet hair. It advises to use sparingly and apply for if needed. I found that I applied a little more but I do have quite porous hair and my hair drinks moisture due to being naturally curly.

This oil really does deliver a shot of moisture and I will definitely buy this again.

Total Treat  Argan Oil Cream

This 100ml Argan Oil cream is a lovely addition to any hair care collection. It comes in a tube type bottle and fits in with the Total Treat collection, mirroring the style of the conditioner.

The cream is designed to transform the texture of your hair by locking in moisture to help heal dry, damaged hair. It also contains Argan Oil to help to smooth and restore your hair.

The directions advise that you apply a pea sized amount to damp hair and work from mid lengths to ends before blow drying.

I found that using this before blow drying and styling. Helped my wild lion’s mane to  feel amazingly soft and my hair had no flyaways at all. I was just astonished at the difference I. My hair, especially after the week of using it. The condition of my hair improved so much.

I would rate this 5/5 and would defiantly recommend to a friend.

Overall. I am very happy with this range.

I used the collection of products 3 times over the duration of a week and I am so impressed with the quality and texture of my hair. It has improved so much and does not feel anywhere near like the dry mess it was before, it’s now silky and smooth.
