We sang, we danced and had a fabulous time throughout the entire show, it was truly excellent. The theatre was packed with lots of very excited children.
I took four children to The Lowry to see Peppa Pig’s Surprise. Not being a Peppa Pig lover myself I was not sure what to expect from a live Peppa Pig show. I needn’t have worried, the show was excellent. The children were all were enthralled from start to finish!
We had two three year olds and two older girls in our party. The excitement of the children when the curtain went up was great to see, and of course the older girls gave the three year olds lots of encouragement. They joined in helping Daisy look for Peppa Pig and George. They sang, they danced, they shouted their responses and had a truly wonderful time. They loved the bedtime story Daisy read to Peppa Pig and George, the bath, the surprise day out.
The puppeteers were fantastic, their speaking, their singing, their dancing, they really brought Peppa Pig, George and all their friends to life. Although I knew the puppeteers were there, I didn’t notice them, the puppets were the main focus of attention. Of course Mummy and Daddy pig were great too. I loved the tears when George cried.
The puppets were exactly like those you see portrayed in the Peppa Pig books. The scenery was simple and the scene changes really slick. It was all done so cleverly. We loved the rock pool with its resident crab. The bubbles were great although they didn’t travel far enough to reach us.
I returned two very excited little boys who had had a fabulous time to their home after the show.
I can thoroughly recommend this show to anyone, I really enjoyed it and I know the children who were with me really did too.
