I am all for a bit of family fun and especially when it comes to games.

I had never heard of Orchard Toys before so was interested to learn a bit more about them.

ABOUT ORCHARD TOYS – Exert below was taken from the Orchard Website
‘Orchard Toys started out around a kitchen table making blocks and stencils for a local nursery school. Now, over 40 years later, we ship to over 50 different countries around the world and are recognised as a leading manufacturer of educational games and puzzles both in the UK and globally.

To find out more about Orchard Toys, please click on this link:- www.orchardtoys.com.’ Not hearing of them before, nor any Easter games, me and the grand kids were eager to play, even the 14 year old (I just think he did not want to miss out on the fun and attention) and who blames him. The honest, he actually enjoyed it, it is all about spending good, valuable quality time together and we did just that.

OBJECT OF THE GAME

There are six different designs of rabbits, 2 in a light grey, 1 in a dark grey, 1 in a dark brown and 2 which are a lighter brown colour. Each design has 4 of the same cards with dots on them, which are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 dots.

On the reverse of cards are bright and bold colours, pink, blue, yellow, orange and purple. Some of the cards have lovely images of easter eggs, again, these are bright and bold in colour.

There is a spinner which again, bright bold colours and has the numbers 1-6 on it. The dial is a carrot with images of 3 cute and adorable bunnies looking over the dial. The dial comes with an attachment where you need to attach the carrot to the dial with it.

SETTING UP THE GAME
You need to place all the cards with the images of the bunnies facing upwards, this means that the back back on them lay face down on the surface.

Place the spinner in easy reach of everyone playing the game.

HOW TO PLAY
Boy! This was fun and we had so many laughs, chuckles and giggles.

Numbers of players are 2-4 people.

It says on the instructions to start off with the youngest player (we have played it so many times, each time, we played it so it went up in age, it seems fair that way that each child gets to go first).

The first player starts by spinning the spinner, which ever number the carrot lands on, the player then takes the bunny card that represents that number with the dots on the card.

The player then turns the card over and puts it in front of them. Remember the eggs I mentioned on the back of the cards. When doing this, the card will show either 0. 1, 2 or 3 eggs on it. Once the player has done this, it is the next players go.

The player then repeats the steps above, if however, the player spins the carrot and it lands on a number where a bunny card which that number of dots has been taken, it is then the next players turn. Continue playing until all the cards have been taken.

Once all the cards have been taken, each player adds up all the eggs on their cards, the player with the most eggs is the winner.

The cards are excellent for cognitive learning which is very important to me. From touch, feel and look, to the brightly coloured cards which all make it a really great way to engage and interact with your child/children, all of which will stimulate their sensory play whilst playing and interacting. We even twitched our noises each time it was our go, again a great way to play and interact when playing.
