Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens Review

Reviewed by Michelle Wells

Celebrate the bicentenary of Dickens’ birth with this beautiful gift edition of Oliver Twist.

Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist is one of the best-loved stories ever written. The story of the young orphan is as powerful now as when it was first published over a century ago.

The text in this edition has been carefully abridged so that it is accessible to younger readers and retains both the drama and the humour of the original.

My 9 year old daughter has reviewed this abridged version of this classic book and she thinks it’s a good book although some of the words were a little hard to read/understand for her.

It is a great addition to any book collection and is well written and illustrated. Being a classic Charles Dickens book it’s has a great storyline that children will find enjoyable and educational if learning about the book at school.

I would recommend this book and would say it would be better suited to a child of 10 years upwards.
