Odylique Lemon And Aloe Vera Natural Roll-On Deodorant Review

So a bit about me first, I’m not an out and out eco warrior but I do believe that everyone can do their bit to make the world a better place. As a family, we recycle as much as we can, my kids were bought up on reusable nappies, I use reusable cotton rounds to remove make up and we metal straws. When it comes to products, we consciously try to buy products that are eco friendly, not harmful to aquatic life etc.

When it comes to deodorants, I have tried a natural crystal deodorant in the past but I didn’t really feel like it did anything for me so I was happy to try ODYLIQUE – Lemon & Aloe Vera Natural Roll-On Deodorant when I was offered the chance to test and review it, as a different natural option.  The brand Odylique was new to me so I read up on what the company stood for. I found out that they are a company that produce a nice range of personal care products and that their aim is to make products with ingredients that have a therapeutic effect, without aggravative your skin. The owner initially made products to suit her own sensitive and allergy prone skin. Although the products are in plastic packaging, even that has been considered. Their packaging is made from recycled plastic milk bottles mainly sourced from the EU to keep their carbon footprint down. My sort of company!

So to the deodorant itself. The bottle is a nice, smoothly textured bottle which is a nice size to pop into your gym bag, hand bag etc. On opening the bottle and trying it on for the first time, the thing that got me the most was the scent. The bottle says lemon and aloe. I loved the smell! Previous natural deodorants I have tried didn’t really have a strong scent but this one did. Not overpowering to trigger a migraine (which I do suffer from) but enough that I could smell it ever now and then throughout the day when I moved. It’s a sort of citrusy, almost herby smell that smell very natural and fresh. I honestly loved the smell.

In terms of putting it on, you need to give it a good shake and roll it on but I would recommend not putting your top on straightaway as it does need a few minutes to dry. It went on fine, without any irritation or ill effect.
Unfortunately for me, the deodorising effect did not last all day and on days where I didn’t top up throughout the day, I did end the day feeling a little smelly, although oddly I never felt sweaty at any point of the day. For me to get the full effect of this deodorant, I did have to top up during the day which is no problem but could be for others.

If you are looking for a natural, lovely smelling deodorant designed for sensitive skin and you don’t mind topping up throughout the day, then Odylique Lemon & Aloe Vera Natural Roll-On Deodorant is definitely one you should consider.
