Nutella Mini Pots Review

Reviewed by Lindsay Burton

I had the opportunity to try Nutella’s mini pots and I jumped at the chance. These mini pots are miniature glass containers filled with a delicious scoop of gooey heaven! It has an authentic taste of hazelnuts and cocoa and its unique creaminess intensifies the flavour. It is so delicious that even a small amount is highly satisfying: 15g/ 1 heaped tsp Nutella spread on wholegrain bread is enough to guarantee an unbeatable taste and a pleasurable experience and as a family, we absolutely love Nutella!

These mini pots at the breakfast table allowed my three Nutella loving children to simultaneously spread Nutella from their very own pot onto their toast, no arguments. If you like sweet milk chocolate, I would almost guarantee you will like this. If you are more of a salty food kind of person, or like sweet things but not extremely so, find a way to try it first. If you compare it with Almond butter (a substitute I have tried before) you will find that the sugar only adds about 20 calories a serving, not as much as some people might fear. And if you have a child that hates breakfast (I have one of those too), you should try giving them this one whole grain toast or waffles or even little scotch pancakes with some berries for a healthy twist. The flavour of whole grain combines really well with the flavour of Nutella, and I prefer it like this than with white toast. So it could end up being a really good breakfast treat. It has a lot less sodium than Almond butter, but also only 1/3 of the protein it. I wouldn’t really recommend it as a significant source of protein. If you are looking at it as a substitute for peanut butter or almond butter, this is more about the fact that it will make your kid (or yourself) eat other stuff that is healthy by making things like whole grain yummy, than a good source of protein that could support you or your child as breakfast on its own. The options on what to put this on are endless and there are TONS of recipes out there with it, check them out.

Our family favourite is a 3 ingredient cupcake recipe of which Nutella is of course the main ingredient! The cupcakes only take a few minutes to bake and what you bite into is a rich chocolate cupcake with a gooey chocolate centre. And with the festive season upon us and being a massive “Elf on the Shelf” fan, I’ve even used my mini pots for one of the elf scenes… my three were most annoyed that the elves had helped themselves to their Nutella!

Whatever the reason (or season) these little pots are crammed full of delight and could be a small addition to your shopping list that would create a lot of happiness in your home! The Nutella range doesn’t end there, you can order personalised pots for any Nutella lovers which would make a delicious Christmas present with a personal touch to it.
