Northern Ballet’s Goldilocks and the Three Bears at The Lowry Review

Reviewed by Lucy Gwilliam

What a wonderful way to introduce little people to the ballet, taking them to see the Northern Ballet’s adaptation of the classic story Goldilocks and the Three Bears, performed as a ballet. My three year old son and I were lucky enough to see this performance at The Lowry, in Salford, Manchester.

My son has been to numerous amounts of children’s shows before but this was his first ballet. I am a huge fan of ballet, so thought it was an ideal way to introduce him to the dance.

The show lasted around 40 minutes, which I found was a perfect length so the little ones do not disengage.

The set was brightly coloured and looked enchanting. The costumes were well designed and perfect for the story. You could characters were from their outfits, which is crucial for the little ones.

There were many funny moments, which the children enjoyed and laughed out loud.

My son loved this show, he was thoroughly engaged throughout. I would recommend this show.

Rating: 4.5/5
