As a Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons novice, I had a fantastic evening enjoying the sights and sounds of their music brought to life by the talented quartet of Jon Hawkins, Duncan Heather, Ricky Rojas and Damion Scarcella and the accompanying musicians and dancers.

It is not, as some people thought, The Jersey Boys, which is the story of Frankie Valli but a celebration of his music with the lead singers introducing and performing a collection of The Four Seasons’ songs.

The highlight for me was the acapella version of Silence is Golden.  The singers put their heart into the songs and sing them like they really believe in them, you could feel the pain Frankie felt losing his daughters in Duncan Heather’s performance of Fallen Angel.

I was quite unaware of the number songs by groups that I knew  (Bye Bye Baby, Big Girls Don’t Cry, My Girl, Walk Like a Man, Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You, Sherry) and enjoyed singing along to like many of the audience and the evening ended with everyone on their feet.

There were a few occasions where the music overpowered the voices but a minor detail in a show that ticked all the boxes.

Definitely worth braving the Scottish weather to see New Jersey Nights!
