New Games For Christmas
Take a break from the screen this Christmas and go back to basics with family fun and a new board game from University Games.
The great new family quiz, 5 Second Rule (age 8+) that launched this year is a real crowd pleaser. 5 Second Rule, winner at The Toy Fair, is fun, fast and frenetic and with the aim of naming three things before the 5 second timer runs out, ridiculous answers are bound to slip out and laughs will be had all round the Christmas tree! See fun clip on Youtube. It has been named in play.com's top dozen for Christmas.
Or why not play Alexander Armstrong's BBC game show Pointless (age 10+) in your own home. Fight against your natural instincts as you try to score the least number of points by guessing the least popular answers to general knowledge questions.
If you prefer a bit more competition, enjoy a day at the races with the classic game of revenge, scheming and downright nastiness – the Really Nasty Horse racing game (age 12+) Players win money when their horses win or they bet on the winning horse. Beware… this game is not for the faint-hearted!
The old-favourite, Mr&Mrs, is a real giggle as you find out how well you really know your partner! Impatient players should make sure they have Smart Ass (age 12+) in their Christmas games collection – but don't play it with those who like a slow-paced game!
For the younger children and some gorgeous stocking fillers, check out the highly addictive Find it game which will keep your kids absorbed for hours or the new Crayola games and not forgetting the family favourite The Gruffalo games.
All games can be purchased from Amazon.
