Another fabulous evening at Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall listening to the amazing Navi, the world’s number one Michael Jackson impersonator. Having performed in over 300 international shows in 60 different countries and being personally endorsed by Michael Jackson himself Navi is certainly the person to go and see for Michael Jackson fans.
The evening started strongly with fine performances of Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Bad, Black or White, Man in the Mirror, Dirty Diana and in the second half Jackson Five classics such as ‘I want you back, ABC and Can you feel it, together with old favourites such as Billie Jean and Thriller. Throughout the show a laser light show, backed the music to great effect.
The stage show was understated with just two dancers, keyboard player, drummer and bass guitarist but all were excellent and enhanced Navi’s performance. I must admit I was expecting a bit more in the way of stage show but it wasn’t too the detriment of the evening. I was pleasantly surprised at the huge age range of the audience from six years old to 70 with everything in between, there was one particular boy around 8 years old dressed up in a fabulous red outfit doing the dance moves to every track, a definite early starter as a Michael Jackson fan.
Navi did have a few technical glitches during the show, problems with sound and light but like the true professional he is he carried on regardless even remarking on them on good humour. In fact there were several humorous episodes throughout the show with one of his dancers Tyrone.
The Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall has just completed a refurbishment at the moment and new seats have been fitted to the main area and tiered stalls and circle making it even more comfortable. The bar area has had a fantastic makeover in stunning art deco style with a new coffee area, smart sofas and ice cream fridge. As ever the staff were prompt and courteous, the bar was well stocked and the venue clean and tidy. Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall is a great place to visit with a multi storey car park next door for easy parking and great facilities for the disabled.
A great evening watching Navi a must see for Michael Jackson fans.
