We saw Russell Kane’s Right Man, Wrong Age last night at the Lowry in Salford, Manchester. What a show. Parking is really easy, with the theatre a short walk over the path from the multi-storey car park. The theatre is in a great location only 40 minutes from Preston, well sign posted.
The theatre was full and the atmosphere is electric. Russell Kane came onto the stage with energy and great presence. He interacted brilliantly with the audience and did his own warm up. Really gave his time and energy to the performance that started at 8pm and apart from a 20 minute interval finished at 10.30pm. Not many shows we have seen that warm the audience up themselves and are prepared to stay on stage for so long.
It was a great show, full of real life experiences that we can all relate to causing a roar of laughter throughout the room.
Russell talks about growing up into a man and the trauma and joys of becoming a dad for the first time. His material really made us feel like he could have been talking about any of us in the room. No holds barred, truthful interaction and great humour.
The family experiences with his in laws were hilarious, especially as they were in the room in front of us. Spray tanning a new born baby, getting caught spray tanning himself by his dad were amongst the crazy images Russell was popping in our heads. Not to mention a biology lesson on how to have a baby girl!
Walking farts and carrier bags to stop you wetting yourself – all invaluable knowledge the man of many laughs explored through a thoroughly entertaining evening in Salford.
This is the best comedy show we have been to! Would definitely go and see him appear live again – looking forward to it. We give Russell Kane a big fat 10 out of 10 for his performance. A must see, great evening of entertainment for adults of all ages.
