Megaslam Wrestling at Ferneham Hall Fareham Review

I had an entertaining evening at Ferneham Hall with my 3 boys watching Megaslam Wrestling. This was our first wrestling show and the boys were not disappointed. They could hardly sit still in their seats and were fully engrossed in the show, shouting and cheering when prompted by the wrestlers. The show consisted of 3 rounds in the 1st half and 2 further rounds in the second half. Time was spent at the beginning of each round introducing the wrestlers, the ‘nasty’ team and the ‘good’ team. The ‘good’ team went around the audience giving high fives, whilst the ‘nasty’ team were mainly jeered by the crowd. The audience was largely made up of children, many of whom were wearing wrestling costumes and waving giant hands.

A huge part of the show was the audience participation, they encouraged everyone to join in, chanting at the ‘nasty’ team and jeering the referee when they disagreed with his decisions. The rounds were certainly action packed, with the wrestlers jumping in and out of the ring and at times being thrown straight out!! Although my boys did not know the wrestlers or the chants being shouted out by the crowd, by the 2nd round they had picked up the lingo.

The compare showed a range of merchandise on offer to be purchased in the 15-minute interval after the second round. With the option to buy a VIP autograph package that would give you autographs and photos with each of the wrestlers from the show. This was then arranged to take place after the final round.

Ferneham Hall is a pleasant building with welcoming, friendly front of house staff. There is plenty of seating around the bar area with tables and chairs to sit with refreshments before the show and during the interval. With the option to pre-order drinks prior to the interval to save queuing, although the service was very quick. You were also able to take your drinks and snacks into the theatre.

There was plenty of parking in the car parks directly outside of Ferneham Hall, with the added bonus of no parking charges after 4pm. The car park was very busy when we arrived so would advise arriving earlier or maybe trying to park in the adjacent multi storey car park.

Overall Ferneham Hall was a lovely welcoming theatre and I look forward to attending future shows here. I would give Megaslam wrestling a 4* out of 5 and my boys have already asked me to get tickets for their next show here in May!

Rating: 4/5
