The Hawth in Crawley is easy to find and has a large amount of free car parking. It is a modern venue with large auditoriums. There are plenty of toilets, a cafe, restaurant and a number of bars for reasonably priced refreshments. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. What’s great about The Hawth is that there are no restrictive view seats in my opinion. Wherever you get seated you will get a great view of the stage. I’m never disappointed when I visit here.
Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Material Girl – The Madonna Story. I am a big fan of Madonna, to be honest who doesn’t like at least one of her songs? Every disco or party you can guarantee one of her songs will get people on to the dance floor. With a career spanning over 35+ years, multimillion record sales worldwide, actress, mother, Madonna is certainly a big act to pull off. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for when you go and see someone trying to take in one of your favourite performers. If it is perfection you often leave disappointed. Madonna is a superstar for a very good reason.
I wanted to relive the music of Madonna and that’s exactly what I did. Jodie Jackson brought Madonna to the stage. The costumes, narration and video footage were fantastic. Jodie covered all of her biggest hits from Papa Don’t Preach, Like a Virgin, Holiday, Borderline, Like a Prayer and Hung Up which included rolling around the stage in a leotard and roller skates. Jodie was accompanied by three male and three female dancers who were absolutely amazing and I think helped bring the whole show together with their talent.
A fun, feel good and entertaining evening. A must for any Madonna fan!
