When I opened the packaging to look at the babygrow the first thing I spotted was how it was on a cute cardboard hanger, I like the little touches that make something unique.
The babygrow/vest is very well made. As soon as I put it on my son I noticed that the material was really nice and soft, a good quality cotton, finished really well around the arms and edges with a lap shoulder neckline and had a very smooth label that wouldn’t irritate my sons skin. It had good quality poppers along the bottom, not like the ones that look like they will break if you open them really quickly. The babygrow is a good fit for a 4 month old average sized baby in the 3-6 month sizing. The washing instructions are a little confusing as one label says wash at 30 degrees and the second label says to wash at 40 degrees, which is correct?
The design is unique and really cute. The star motif itself although very nice was really hard, and the star is quite large not ideal for something that goes directly onto the baby’s skin and under another piece of clothing. After a few washes it may soften but after one wash it was still quite hard and not something I would be overly keen to put on my child’s chest. I really hope this softens up over time.
The babygrow is quite an expensive purchase at £18, had this been a sleep suit it might be more worth the money but as a babygrow it’s expensive even for a handmade product. It would make a lovely gift but again I’m not sure someone would appreciate how much it cost.
I would give this item a 3/5, losing marks for the hardness of the star motif for a baby clothing item and points for the cost.
I received the star design but it is also available in bow, car, truck, helicopter and pink heart.
