Christmas will be here quicker than you know it and there are plenty of adverts around for a plethora of toys, so what do you get your little ones? Do you do for standard toys or maybe some books or even something educational? Personally, I would prefer to get something educational (especially as one of the twins loves to learn and the other is now starting to get an interest in learning a wider variety of subjects). But Christmas, apart from the religious aspect, is about fun and enjoying your presents so getting something to help with schoolwork may seem wrong! That’s where Little Tikes come in. For me, education is very important so toys that entertain and educate are brilliant and this year I was sent the Builder Bot from the Little Tikes STEM Jr range to try out with the twins.
The Builder Bot is a colourful robot that kids can build by snapping the various pieces into place. It is a 12-piece set and comes with hands-on experiments. There are lots of different ways to build the robot and test out its functions, helping to develop a child’s interest in engineering as well as developing their creativity and imagination.
We had lots of fun building the robot (and the twins certainly liked creating their own versions) and once the build we discovered that the robot really does move. It features spinning arms, rolling wheels, rocking feet, a light-up body, pinching hands and lots more. By visiting www.stem-jr.com you can find more exciting new experiments to try out to use with toys from the STEM Jr range.
Overall, we all love this educational toy. You can follow the cards (easy to follow diagrams) to try and build a robot that rolls or spins or you can mix and match the different parts and create you own robot and then test out to see if he works and in what way.
It is a great STEM toy that sees children from 3 years and up (ideally ages 3-5 years) learning creative thinking, problem solving engineering skills through hands-on play, all while having hours of fun.
The pieces are made from plastic and are quite chunky so can easily be handled by little hands. It feels quite robust and sturdy. They are easy for children to pull apart and push back together.
If you have children that love to learn or just love to take things apart (and hopefully put them back together again) then the Little Tikes Builder Bot would make an excellent Christmas gift.
An excellent learning tool that will provide hours of fun and help prepare children for school when doing STEM subjects.
