Linton Hotel Luton Review

Reviewed by Debbie Talbot

I love any opportunity to get away for a bit of relaxation, so I jumped at the opportunity of spending the night at Linton Hotel in Luton, Bedfordshire. It is located near Luton town centre and opposite Stockwood Golf Course and has good transport links with its proximity to Luton Airport, the M1 motorway and 2 train stations.

The booking process was easy and staff could not be more helpful. They were clearly very knowledgeable. I was literally counting down the sleeps to our stay.

The day arrived and we set off. We found the hotel easily using the sat nav. It was only about 5 minutes drive from Luton town centre and easily accessible whether getting there by car, as we did, or via public transport. We easily found a car parking space in their ample car park. Whilst the hotel is situated close to a main road, it was so quiet. The exterior of the hotel is stunning and the interior even more so. The reception looks so classy. Staff were great and we were checked in very quickly.

Our room had a really clever sofa which turns into a bed. This was great as we could sit watching tv rather than having to sit or lie on the bed to do so. The room was spotless and the bathroom stunning. After a few hours relaxing in our room we headed to one of the hotel restaurants, the Carriages restaurant, for dinner.

The restaurant, which offers an Italian and European menu, was just the right size, not too small where the tables feel on top of each other, nice and cosy too. The waiters were very attentive. We ordered and received our drinks in no time at all. As a lover of mushrooms, we were both very much looking forward to our starter. We shared a portion of garlic bread with mushrooms. It tasted absolutely divine. For our main course we choose lamb shank and fillet steak. Both arrived quickly, cooked to perfection. Both main courses were served with seasonal vegetables. We both cleared our plates. The fillet steak cost £24.95 and the rack of tender lamb cost £19.95. The main course was cooked perfectly and was so full of flavour. The steak was so tender. After our mains, we had a bit of a break before I had tiramisu for dessert.

During our stay we also enjoyed some drinks at La Trattoria. The prices were reasonable and the staff attentive. The bar area looks gorgeous and has a really nice atmosphere.

After a restful night’s sleep we woke the next morning and I went for breakfast in the restaurant. I enjoyed a cooked breakfast with glasses of fruit juice. There were plenty of other food available, such as cereal. I really enjoyed my breakfast.

I also wanted to mention that the hotel has a lovely gym too, which I did not use myself. A spa will also be added in 2019.

The hotel is perfect whether for a short break, longer stay or to visit for a meal. The prices are just amazing for the quality of what you actually experience during your stay. I would not hesitate to visit again.

I would rate it 5/5 for every aspect and I would score our stay higher if I could. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. I hope to also check out their Icon Hotel in Luton at some point.

Rating: 5/5
