Luckily this New Year I wasn’t attempting dry January as I was sent a Laiba cocktail gift set to review.
The Gift Set arrived in a high quality presentation case, there were 8 individual cocktails included which were safely secured in the box with foam, sadly this was the only part that couldn’t be widely recycled.
On first impressions I was impressed the packaging was appealing and luxurious and it would make a lovely gift.

The 8 cocktails included were:
In Love with Rosemary
Passion Delight
I am Coconuts
Cold Brew Martini
Twisted Negroni
Earls Old Fashioned
Laiba Sour
Bloody Mary

I love a cocktail but have generally not been a fan of pre-made ones so I was excited to see if these met the bar (pun intended).

We decided to make a date night-in of the cocktail tasting.

First I had a Cold Brew Martini, which is Laiba’s version of the more commonly known Espresso Martini, my husband went for the Twisted Negroni. There is helpfully a menu included which details what is in the cocktails and their APR, there is a QR code which helpfully led me to Youtube videos of Michael Chen (Mixologist and Creator of Laiba) demonstrating how to serve and garnish each of the cocktails. I used a cocktail shaker to shake with ice and poured into a martini glass, if you don’t own a shaker you can just shake and pour straight from the bottle. The cocktail itself was delicious and smooth with a good alcohol kick, the APR 15.4%.

After a pleasant evening sampling all the cocktails ‘I am coconuts’ was definitely my favourite, it’s a fresh rum based cocktail, dangerously easy to drink.

My husbands favourite was the ‘Earls Old Fashioned’ a little strong for my tastes at 26.3% APR but it was thoroughly appreciated by him.

The cocktails are high quality, the spirits used are premium and ingredients natural with no artificial additives this really reflects in the taste, if I didn’t know better they could have been made fresh in a high end bar.

What was brilliant was that it was a really fun evening for me and my husband to enjoy, we don’t get out much and rarely together with 2 small children, but this made for an excellent date night in.

Laiba also have a QR code for a unique Spotify playlist which we used, which added jazzy speakeasy vibes to our night of cocktails, obviously the people at Laiba have put a lot of thought into their product and the whole experience.

This would be a brilliant gift for Valentines Day, and a great addition to a date night at home. A few of my cocktail loving friends will be getting a set for their birthdays too.

You can buy the Laiba Gift Set for £59 which may seem a little pricey but individually that’s about £7.50 per cocktail. For a special occasion I think it’s well worth it, the quality reflects in the price. You can also buy the cocktails individually on the website so you can just pick your favourites. Enjoy!
