Anyone that knows me will know that I love a good false lash and that my going out make up isn’t complete without them as sadly I wasn’t blessed with the best lashes (think short and flat and generally lacking in oomph). I have tried numerous products to enhance them with no avail so now, when needed, I just opt for a good strip lash so I was thrilled to receive these lashes to review from KISS as they are right up my street.
The lashes I received were the KISS Lash Couture Double Pack Faux Mink effect in the style Muse – they came in a lovely white box with a very simple classy design giving it the feeling of sophisticated glamour. I have to say I really do like a faux mink lash and I tend to look for a lash that has this effect due to the way they look natural soft and weightless and these definitely live up to that. The Muse design features super wispy lashes with a graduated length that is longest in the centre for an eye-opening look which is a style that I find very flattering for my face and one that provides me with a very subtle and natural look as the lash design is very similar to the way that my natural eyelashes grow but just fuller and longer with more wow!
I decided to give the lashes a try for a girl’s meal out by following the instructions that they came with which was to firstly check the fit by laying the lash on top of my natural lish and trim if needed. (woohoo no trimming required) then I applied the lash glue to the lash band, waited 30 seconds for the adhesive to become slightly clear and tacky and then applied the lash along my natural lash line then held whilst allowing the adhesive to dry completely.
I was instantly wowed by these lashes; they gave my eyes a lovely fluttery look without looking too thick or dramatic and had just the right level of fullness and length to show up in photos. The lashes lasted all night (even after several gins) and I had several compliments from the girls about them. I found the lashes very comfortable and light to wear and it didn’t really feel like I was wearing them.
When it came to removing the lashes I followed the instructions as per the packaging which instructed me to gently peel off the lash strip starting at the outer corner then to use an oil-based makeup remover to remove any excess adhesive that was remaining on my eyelid.
These lashes definitely will be making a regular appearance on many more nights out and especially with several Halloween parties already in my diary as with a bit of winged eyeliner and smokey eyeshadow would work very well with them to create a great spooky look.
