First of all I would like to say WOW! This was a spectacular show. Probably the best concert I have ever been to see and I have seen quite a few performances at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester.
I was very excited to be able to attend the Prismatic tour as I am a huge fan of Katy Perry’s music but have never seen her live before.
She opened the sold out show by rising from a giant prism, in an amazing performance of Roar, which is one of my favourite songs. She was dressed in a neon glow in the dark outfit accompanied by dancers dressed as ancient Egyptian warriors.
The whole show was packed full of amazing singing, fantastic dancing and wacky outfits. I loved each of her many costume changes. They included a bright pink ‘cat; suit, Cleopatra, a gorgeous butterfly dress complete with moving butterfly head band, a giant ying/yang dress and many more.
The show was split up into seven different sections (left), with as many costume changes. The majority of the songs were from the ‘Prism’ album; however, she does include her most popular songs from ‘One of the Boys’ and ‘Teenage Dreams’ albums.
The crowd were absolutely crazy for Katy, she interacted on many occasions throughout the show. Coming to the centre of the arena to sing ‘one to one’ in her acoustic set. I really enjoyed this set as it included another one of my favourite songs ‘unconditional’.
The props used throughout the show were outstanding, from the mechanical horse used in ‘Dark Horse’, to the spaceship during the performance of ‘ET’, the hilarious mummy costumes in ‘I kissed a girl’ and the fireworks at the end of the show for ‘Firework’. Katy Perry’s team definitely excelled themselves. I was engrossed in the amazingness of the whole production.
I had such an excellent night watching Katy Perry perform. I loved how appreciative Katy was of her fans and how devoted her fans are to her. She truly deserves her fame. I will definitely be going to see her next tour and would recommend this show.
