At £24.99 for a pair of true wireless earbuds you probably can’t go far wrong, but there’s more to these snappy gadgets than a cool price tag. We measured the Juice Airphones Go against one of the leading brands of true wireless earbuds and we really liked the outcome, but let’s get into the detail a little more;
The Juice Airphones Go are a pair of white, short stemmed earbuds with Bluetooth connectivity to most smart phones, tablets etc. The pair are purchased in a charging pod with inbuilt LED lighting indicators and with a USB-C charging cable. The case is small enough to pop in a pocket and with 3 full charges of around 5 hours of usage, plus the initial charge held, you have pretty much enough juice to travel right around the world. 20 hours of audio use in a tiny case.

As a woman and with two teen daughters we like to think we’re a fairly rigorous testing panel where matters like size are concerned. Ear canals are often smaller in women so we are quite picky with any in ear devices. It’s become the norm to sell most items with a selection of sizes of ear tips to nestle the device snugly in the ear canal for best audio.
I tried the smallest and found them inclined toward moving, my daughters tried them and found they weren’t as snug as they’d like. I tried medium and found them more inclined to stay in place and this appeared to impact on the audio. Once correctly positioned the audio quality increased dramatically.

We compared this, playing the same track on high end ear buds against the Juice Airphones Go and mutually concluded that: the high end buds have a better range in bass levels BUT, only when playing music with one of each ear bud. It’s doubtful that the actual comparative audio quality could easily be identified unless the user is a true audiophile.
We tried the Airphones Go on the move and found that with the correct ear tips in position they generally stayed where they should. This is helped by the stem which sits comfortably in the gap beside the earlobe. This gave me greater confidence of not losing them. The ear tips are quickly and easily switched over too. It’s easy to set them up to pair with your device too, with simple instructions in the pack, although at this stage in technology and smart phone use this is almost intuitive.

There’s a quick guide to how to make best use of the Juice Airphones to accept, or deny calls and play music or other audio. The earbuds fit snugly in the case with a magnetic draw to slip them into precisely the right position without any doubt that they are safe and charging.
The case takes 2 hours to charge and the earbuds themselves take 1.2 hours, which is reasonable in my opinion. The earbuds have an IPX4 rating for water resistance which can be especially useful information for those who like to listen to music whilst exercising, they should be resistant to low or zero pressure water ingress.
Similarly, it’s useful to know the earbuds have a range of 10 metres from the origin device. Which is great when doing stuff around the house and garden or stretching your legs during a long call.
It seems that all products from Juice have a 1 year warranty, which is great news and creates confidence that you can resolve any issues which might arise, however, we’ve had none. The Juice Airphones Go earbuds are reliable, easily charged, consistent in use and reasonably priced.
The Juice Airphones Go would make a handy tech gift for anyone with audio needs, especially teens where a hefty price tag for the big brands is off putting. I’d feel far more satisfied with my daughters having earbuds at this price, compatibility and capability.
