Joel Dommett is a young up and coming English comedian – probably best known at the moment for coming runner up to Scarlett Moffatt on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2016, or possibly the TV show Skins.
It is very easy to see why this funny man won over the hearts of the nation. Telling tales of his life and recent tabloid scandals Joel had the audience laughing out loud from beginning to end on what is his biggest tour yet. Turning these difficult situations into hysterically funny stories – his act was very relaxed and appeared somewhat unscripted with a huge amount of audience participation. Without giving too much away the audience played a big part of the routine at different stages of the night. Joel is a very likeable funny man who I am sure will go on to be a house hold name in comedy. I will certainly be looking out for him in the future.
The King’s is a traditional small theatre with a welcoming warm atmosphere and ambiance. It is very comfortable and clean with extremely helpful, friendly staff. Our seats in the stalls provided an excellent view of the stage. The theatre is located in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre, so easily accessible by public transport with parking available around the theatre. There is also plenty of option for pre/post theatre drinks and food with the variety of restaurants and bars nearby.
I had a great evening at the King’s Theatre watching a very funny talented guy, laughing and cheering throughout. I would definitely recommend this show to friends and family over the age of 14 and look forward to Joel’s next tour. I would give the night 5 stars out of 5.
