‘The Chicago Blues Brothers are on a mission to make your Christmas start on a festive roller-coaster that will have you clapping until your hands hurt, singing until your voice is hoarse and dancing until your feet ache with an on-stage party you can’t afford to miss.’
What a fabulous entertaining show, featuring Chris Hindle – Joilet Jake Blues, Gareth Davey – Elwood Blues, not forgetting the soul sisters, and the rest of the band members
On entering the theatre, we noticed that they had left some freebies out for the audience sat near to the stage, Santa hats, cd’s and some inflatable guitars.
The stage was all set up looking very Christmassy with Christmas trees, snowballs, extra-large (Blues Brothers) snowmen placed either side of the stage and a large backdrop screen showing mini video clips and scenery to fit in with the show.
The vocals from all were fantastic, the band featuring drums, guitars, keyboard, saxophone, trumpet and trombone sounded immense and loved that they were not just placed in the back ground but were included within the show.
As well as the music, singing, and dancing there was the Blues Brothers cheeky banter comedy element. Had us crying with laughter.
Right from the start they had the audience clapping, and singing ending not with just everyone up on their feet dancing but some fake snowball throwing and two extremely large inflatable balls thrown with in the crowd getting bopped and bounced around all adding to the fun and hype of the show.
We would definitely go see one of there shows again.
If you want to get into the Christmas spirit and you enjoy the blues, soul, Motown and funky classics then this is the show for you!
The Alhambra is a traditional theatre, the main theatre building is modern with bright lights which not only look fabulous but makes the building easy to find.

The venue has disabled parking onsite to the left of the buildings entrance it says no entry but there is a buzzer system to allow entry.
There are plenty of carparks within a couple of minutes walking distance from the venue, Sharpe Street car park is just up the hill from the Alhambra, If using any of the NCP car parks if you inform the ticket office on arrival they give you an additional parking ticket to enable a discount on your parking fee.
