As a first time mother I have spent a lot of time looking into different baby toys and teethers. I was therefore keen to try this gift set from Infantino having already received one of their gift sets (of blocks and sensory balls) from a relative which my baby loves.

The parcel arrived sufficiently packaged and wrapped in tissue paper. The gift set is all contained in a recyclable cardboard box with open ‘viewing area’ to see and touch the three parts of the set. The packaging is eye catching and colourful with key descriptions of the items in multiple languages. I liked the lack of plastic used in the packaging and ease of access, since with a few snips with scissors all items were released, and no need for any additional parts or batteries.

The ‘cuddly pal’ part of the set is a white and turquoise rabbit comforter. Whilst the main feature of this is the glow in the dark aspect, aiming to comfort a baby in the dark, the feet are made as teethers, and the body contains a crinkly foil material which my baby loved to rustle. Another teething ring also hangs down the front of the bunny adding a further element for baby to feel, hold and chew. The bunny certainly looks friendly and its soft fabric makes it lovely and soothing to hold. As stated the glow in the dark function works once the bunny has been exposed to light for 20 minutes and then a fluorescent green flow is produced when in darkness. My only concern is the main colour being white and the ease and of being able to keep this clean.

The rattle and teether ring is brightly coloured and light weight, making it attractive and easy for babies to play with. Three different coloured and textured animals placed between different types of beads create a huge sensory variety for babies to explore. The different textures not only allow babies to feel this range in their hands but offer several options for teething, so something for all babies since many display preferences for different teething textures.

The third part of the set is named the ‘spin and teethe rattle’ and was my favourite part due to its unique spinning flower with each yellow petal made of a different sensory texture (something I have not yet come across in other baby toys or teethers). The centre of the flower contains a spinning ball which my baby was drawn to immediately and quickly mastered the movement required to spin it himself causing much delight. Again light weight and made of bright contrasting colours, for me this rivals many of the popular teething toys.

I think the set is good value for money given the three different items included and the range of elements within each one. It would certainly make a great gift for a new baby and is designed to be safely used from birth although I can imagine my little one enjoying these in different ways for many more months to come.
