I have been using the Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier this week with my 3 month old son. I previously used a sling with my daughter and had been using this with my son up to now but was finding it hard going because of his weight so thought I would try the carrier out. It initially felt very different from the sling. He didn’t seem nearly as snug and secure as he does in the sling but it was much easier to carry his weight. You can’t bend over so I wouldn’t recommend using it as a solution to keep baby close while doing house work for instance. But he was definitely secure enough for doing things upright like walking and shopping etc.
The instructions were easy to follow and putting the carrier on and off, and getting my son in and out of it was simple. Adjusting it to fit my small frame was also very simple. It’s much quicker and simpler than using the sling. So makes nipping out to take my dog for a walk or going to the local shops less of a hassle. My son is also seems content and comfy while in it.
The carrier has four different positions. The first is the facing in folded seat for babies weighing between 8 and 15 lbs. This is the position I have been using with my son which is him facing in towards me. The next position is the facing in expanded seat for 15-32 lbs. Which is essentially the same position but expanded at the bottom to accommodate your baby being slightly bigger. The next position is the facing out folded seat for when your baby is crawling. Which is facing outward so no longer tucked into you as such but still in front of you. And the forth position is the back carry expanded seat for when your baby can sit up. Which is your baby being carried on your back. I tried this last position with my three year old daughter and again it was very simple. I sat on the sofa with the carrier on and my daughter was able to climbed in and out of it. You do however need another adult to help strap it up. It was very comfortable and I could carry my daughter’s weight much easier than I could without it.
The carrier itself looks great in a classy and neutral dark grey with subtle green detail. It also has a lovely little patterned bib accessory included for when your baby is facing in towards you to stop you getting covered in drool or sick, which is a nice touch. It seems good quality and substantial and is machine washable which is a big plus. It doesn’t however fold very neatly so a small pouch or bag would of been a great addition. But I have figured out a way to roll it up and secure it with its straps which helps store it better.
I would definitely recommend this carrier. It’s comfortable, light, looks great and is very easy to use. Therefore I would give it five stars.
