CLEAN G Rhubarb – Non Alcoholic Gin STRICTLY 18+ Review

I love gin! It’s always been my drink of choice and I love that it has grown in popularity over the last few years, with more and more choices available on the market. Just as important as the gin is the gin glass – a good gin glass makes the experience even better! So when I had the chance to review a non-alcoholic gin I wasn’t sure what to expect. Usually, when I choose not to drink I will have a soft drink and don’t think to find a substitute for the alcohol. But I’ll try anything, so I was curious, to say the least.
I received a bottle of Clean G Rhubarb non-alcoholic gin in a well-packaged box. The bottle itself is a lovely art-deco design that could easily rival any of its alcoholic equivalents and also came with a handy little guide booklet with the full range of drinks available; showing the taste notes for each and suggested cocktail recipes. I grabbed my favourite gin glass (of course), added ice and tonic water and gave it a try. It was hard moving past the constant thought of ‘this isn’t alcohol’ but once I got past my biases I realised that I was actually enjoying it. The taste was somewhat sweet and went so well with tonic water. It could easily be complemented with a range of garnishes and in my gin glass no-one would ever know it was a less than 0.5% volume drink. It is surprisingly sugar-free and low-calorie as another benefit.
What’s more, I found that at the weekend, I reached for this bottle over my usual gin. I love the benefits of not feeling groggy in the morning and knowing that I can still make the most of my weekend after a Clean drink. The ethos around the Clean & Co name is so that you can simply ask for a clean drink at the bar rather than a ‘non-alcoholic’ drink, which doesn’t roll of the tongue as easily. The Clean drinks are perfect for a clean lifestyle choice which is becoming more and more popular; allowing you to still feel a part of a social situation where people are drinking.
I can honestly say that my mindset towards non-alcoholic drinks has changed since trying the Clean G Rhubarb drink. The aesthetics of the drink in the gin glass with the tonic looks the same, and in all honesty, I feel the same in a social situation holding that glass as I do holding one with alcoholic gin in it. The difference is that I get the additional benefits of being clean, clear, hydrated and hangover-free. What’s not to love!

I am now curious enough to try the others flavours and definitely happy to recommend Clean & Co to my clean friends. It’s a 5/5 for me.
