Hard Rock Café, Manchester Holiday Menu Review

Reviewed by Debbie Talbot

I have loved Hard Rock café for many years, having visited their London location in the past which is fantastic.  Despite living in Greater Manchester for years, I had not visited Hard Rock café in Manchester until yesterday.  I travelled by train to Manchester Victoria.  It was then a short walk on foot to the venue which is located within the Printworks building.  Our booking was for 6.30pm and I thought it was a lovely touch that you are given 15 minutes grace period with your booking.   That was good to know for if in a situation where you are unexpectedly running a bit late.

The venue itself looked cool and inviting.  As my guest and I entered there is a shop on the left hand side selling Hard Rock café merchandise.  We were greeted by a friendly and efficient member of staff who showed us to our booth style table and gave us a Holiday menu each.  On it were 2 types of festive cocktails, 3 choices of starter, 9 choices of main course and 2 choices of dessert.  It was easy to choose a starter (balsamic tomato bruschetta) but I did deliberate for a while between New York strip steak with marinated mushrooms and turkey dinner for my main course.  In the end I went for the steak option (which had a £6 surcharge).  For dessert I chose caramel apple cheesecake.  My guest ordered Caesar salad starter wise, the burger as a main course and had the same as myself dessert wise.  A two course meal costs £28.95 per person and a three course meal £31.95 per person.

My attention then turned to the Holiday drinks on the Holiday menu. These cost £12.35 each.  I chose Blackberry Rocker and my guest chose Sleighride Sangria.   We each also ordered an unlimited soft drink as well.

Our drinks came out in good time.  They were so well presented with beautiful garnish and tasted fantastic.  They tasted divine and when I say they, I mean they. I had my guest’s Holiday drink as well as my own as my guest was driving.

The starters came out quickly and we both thoroughly enjoyed them. Portion sizes were generous.  I couldn’t actually finish my starter.    Staff were attentive when it came to checking in with us, but not too intrusive.  I must admit that it was my main meal that I was most looking forward to.  It did not disappoint. It all tasted absolutely divine. I loved the mushroom topping on the steak. Speaking of the steak, it was cooked perfectly.  The mash was tasty and creamy.  My guest’s burger meal looked amazing and my guest really enjoyed it.

Staff were efficient at clearing away our plates etc in between courses.   They also asked whether we would like our unlimited soft drinks topped up.

I am not quite sure how I fitted in a dessert, but I polished off my caramelised apple cheesecake.  My guest was beaten part way through. As with the other courses the portion size was generous.  The toilet facilities were well stocked and immaculate.  The atmosphere in the venue was lovely.  Every member of staff who I came across was helpful, professional and approachable.

I would recommend Hard Rock Café Manchester to others.  If you haven’t yet booked to go and experience their Holiday Menu, I highly recommend that you do so.  I think that the price of the Holiday menu represents great value for money and the service and quality of the food was exceptional.  My guest and I had such an enjoyable evening.

There is even a New Years Eve Celebration Menu which costs £39.45 per person.   I think enjoying a meal with friends or family would be a fantastic way to bring in the new year.  The other UK locations of Hard Rock Café are London, London Piccadilly Circus, Newcastle and York.

Rating: one of the easiest 5/5 that I have ever given and one of my all time favourite reviews to do.
