Created in 1967, Guylian Chocolates are renowned for their Belgian milk chocolates, and probably most famously for their Belgian chocolate praline sea shells. In their instantly recognisable cream, brown and gold branding, this pouch pack was bursting with delicious Belgian chocolatey goodness. For those unfamiliar with Guylian Chocolates, the chocolate is super creamy, while the praline is sumptuously smooth which is down to the high-quality ingredients, and 100% pure cocoa butter used to make them.

Now, I’ve often had their chocolate seashells as a gift but hadn’t seen this pouch before! I can freely admit that while it’s different from the traditional luxury chocolate box, the branded pack would stand out on any supermarket shelf.

Guylian’s Temptations packaging is not the only thing that is different from their usual box of chocolates. The Guylian’s Temptations experience offers consumers the chance to try four flavours of Guylian Belgian chocolates. The four flavours include the original Milk Chocolate Praline, Milk Truffle, Caramel and Crunchy Biscuit.

Each chocolate is shaped as a seahorse, unlike the seashells which come in array of designs, marbled in milk and white chocolate. The fillings are really rich and deeply delicious, without feeling greasy or over-the-top. While each flavour is unique, the texture and over-arching taste is the Guylian Belgian chocolate you know and love. The crispy bits of biscuit, smooth caramel and velvety milk chocolate truffle were delightful additions to the range. So much so, my partner and I found ourselves taking one of each kind out of the bag at a time, to satisfy our tantalized tastebuds.

Each chocolate within the 323g bag comes individually wrapped. I found this had some sort of psychological trickery which effected how quickly I ate them – I think because there wasn’t a niggling notion of them spoiling, and I found I could, without too much trepidation, put the bag down and walk away. Also, especially in the time of Covid, the approx. 32 individual wrapped delicacies mean the chocolates are easy to share – well, only you can bring yourself to allow others to indulge, and you don’t want to keep them all for yourself!

The tasty chocolate isn’t the only good thing about Guylian Temptations, oh no! For those who are a bit more eco conscious, the products are free from palm oil. And, not only that, every time you buy a Gulyian Chocolate product, you’re supporting an international marine conservation programme, Project Seahorse. So, not only are you getting to eat something tasty, you are helping out the environment. It’s a win-win!

As a luxury chocolate brand, Guylian Chocolates make ideal presents, especially at Christmas. Guylian’s Temptations make no exception. The handy pouch will confuse even the most skilled of present shakers. While slightly less opulent than the chocolate box, the products within are of the same high quality, and anyone would surely be pleased to receive this in their stocking from Santa… only if Santa can resist their allure though!

I hope you’ll be tempted to get some of these gorgeous Guylian’s Temptations – I know I am.
