Luxury One Night Stay With Dinner And Fizz From Buyagift Review

With thoughts now turning to those elusive Christmas gifts, I was delighted to receive a review item from the Buyagift company – a one night stay in a hotel with a meal and fizz!! Buyagift is a well-known gift experience provider in the UK. Their range of gifts is vast with numerous experiences available from spa & beauty and food & drink to more adventurous days out, overnight stays and driving experiences. Something to cater for all tastes and occasions – even for those men in your life as a special Christmas gift. Their website is amazing and very easy to navigate. Still undecided after looking through the ideas? They even do money vouchers so the recipient can make their own choice.

I received an e-voucher for the experience – you can choose an actual voucher if you prefer – and despite not being very tech-savvy – I found it easy to use. Once I had registered the voucher I had the choice of thirteen hotels that I could go to. Each venue was well described and the choice was difficult! There were some restrictions as to when the voucher could be used so taking this and the driving distance into account, I decided on Bournemouth which was the nearest being about 120 miles from us. Destination decided I then had the choice of two hotels and after much deliberation I choose The Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel. After entering the voucher code, the venue was booked and my confirmation email received.

Having arrived earlier than anticipated at the West Cliff, we went into Bournemouth to spend some time admiring the Christmas Tree Wonderland and their Christmas market. After several wet days, the sun shone brilliantly and it was hard to believe it was almost December when we were standing on the pier.

When we returned to the hotel, check-in was very easy. The reception staff were friendly and helpful while explaining about meal times and the spa & swimming pool complex. The hotel had 83 rooms and ours was on the second floor. The room was spacious, clean and well presented with tea and coffee making facilities available. Free Wi-Fi could be accessed and a large tv was positioned on one of the walls.

Before our evening meal we had time to relax in the downstairs lounge which was very comfy with gentle background music playing. At our chosen time we were shown into the dining area and we made our choices from the menu. There was a good selection of meals – some however had a surcharge and I did feel maybe an £11.50 surcharge for steak was a bit steep! The staff were very helpful and answered any queries we had. The meal was delicious and served in a very relaxed manner. The complimentary ‘fizz’ was also great! After a coffee we returned to our room to have a good rest in the comfy bed – we did however find the room very warm despite leaving the windows open.

Breakfast the next morning was very good – buffet style with a good selection also for gluten free and dairy intolerant guests.

Overall the experience was very enjoyable. Certainly an ideal Christmas choice for that special man in your life as a post-Christmas get away. Using the voucher was very straightforward and the communication from both the Buyagift team and the hotel was great. I will certainly be looking at using Buyagift for some of the milestone birthdays I have next year.
