On Saturday we went to the laugh a minute Faulty Towers Dining Experience set in the Lowry Theatre restaurant in Salford.

On arrival we were told to make our way to the bar and wait to be seated. After a few minutes Basil Faulty appears with Manuel in tow and the fun begins. Before we were even shown to our table we were in stitches at Manuel’s antics and Basil’s insults as he shouted at each party in turn and insulted many of them in the process. Sybil is on the side-lines screeching in her piercing voice why are the guests not seated yet and we are all hustled through to the restaurant.

John Cleese’s 70s sitcom is brought to life and lots of the iconic scenes are recreated with perfection. As Manuel misunderstands many of the English phrases the whole meal turns into a farce. There is a lot of audience participation and the adlibbing flows as the trio make their way around everybody’s tables and chat to everyone in turn.

There are so many comic moments it is hard to pick a favourite but I thoroughly enjoyed Manuel’s rendition of Viva Espana standing on our table and having us be a bull and cow throughout the song – yes it is that crazy!!

The food is typical 70s food fair, soup for starters served with a bread if you managed to catch it when it is thrown at you. Chicken served with vegetables and mash and good old apple pie and cream for dessert.  All served warm and very tasty.

I would thoroughly recommend you go and experience this for a fun night out at a very reasonable price. We really did laugh from start to finish and would definitely go again. Fantastic cast and fabulous show!
