I hadn’t counted on needing this product so soon after it arrived in the post from the Dog and Pup Store. I had just arrived home from my morning walk with the dogs (Morley 7 years and Minnie 16 months) on which Minnie had decided she wanted to smother herself in Eau de Fox Pong. If you haven’t experienced this whiff before, count yourself lucky and I hope you never have the misfortune. The smell almost glues itself to the inside of your nostrils and won’t budge for love nor money. There are many ‘products’ people advise you can use to remove the stench, like Tomato Ketchup, Vinegar or Coffee Grounds but having tried these I can only say that my pooch comes out of the shower smelling like either a chip shop or a coffee shop – not ideal because she then runs outside to roll around on the grass till she dries off.
I couldn’t wait to try this Fox Poo Shampoo as I’d read some reviews myself, and other lucky smelly dog owners really rated this as a great alternative to your kitchen cupboard. I quickly whisked Minnie off to the bathroom and showered off the ‘excess’, then got to work with the shampoo and lathered her up. It has a lovely smell, very fresh and although quite strong is PH balanced, easy to rinse out and cleanses your dog’s skin too. Minnie usually wriggles when I shower her as she can’t wait to get out and do her usual ‘doodle dash’ around the house, jumping on all the furniture to get dry, so the fact it’s easy to rinse out too made my life easier (and drier) in the bath as she didn’t have time to cover me in water either.
This product is great on many fronts… Minnie was easier to handle in the shower because we weren’t in there for too long, she smells fantastic now with no trace of fox poo and it’s great for her doodle skin as it doesn’t dry it out but conditions her lovely blonde fur. I completely agree with the sentiment on the back of the highly attractive black packaged tube with standout yellow writing “… transforms your beloved pet from a stinky monster back into a wonderfully clean and fragrant member of your family”.
I’m not surprised Animology have more awards than Brad and Angelina, their research, development and marketing is fantastic and this product in particular (for me) is value for money.
