With so many toys to review, my 6 month old grandson has been a very lucky boy and this was an absolute gem of a toy to review.

I am a lover of bright, bold and vibrant colours when it comes to children’s learning, education, interactive and sensory play and this gym does all that, which is what makes is a fantastic gym for baby and older.  These are all great and brilliant for baby to catch their attention and be able to play with them.

What makes this such a special toy is the fact that the arch of the play gym is in black and white.  This is particularly great for babies under the age of 4 months as they do not tend to see colour until they are least 4 months, they can only see black and white with shades of grey, so this for me, makes it an absolutely well thought out toy with colours and an extremely great one as a progressive toy as baby gets older.

There are pictures and patterns which are brightly coloured that encourage sensory discovery whilst baby lays on the mat.  My grandson loved the three toys that hung from the arc of the gym, these are also detachable which is great for adding to the pushchair.  It allows hime to focus whilst interacting.

Freddie the firefly’s face is a very happy one indeed and with his crinkly, crackly wings, it certainly got my grandsons attention.

There is a large mirror that hangs in the centre of the gym which we used to play peekaboo.  This was also heartwarming each time my grandson saw his face in it, a bit confused to start with but then the usual baby giggles kicked in.  This is great as it helps to promote recognition of themselves and anyone else that plays with him.

There is a teether in the shape of an apple and another in the shape of a pear, which is soft and is great for any teething baby.  Again, sensory and discovery play whilst helping them to deal with their teething.

There is a cute and comfy 2 in 1 pillow which looks like a snake.  You can use this on its own for interactive play and noises.  It helps to support them when they are laying on their tummy and comfortable for when they are old enough to sit on their own.  It is comfortably padded mat gives a lovely soft and gentle surface.

The mat on its own awesome.  Freddie has so many woodland friends with him on this and great ones at that, from butterfly, snail, bear and more, they are a great way to learn different animals as baby grows and becomes more interested.

It is easy to clean, fold up, pack away and transport.

Overall, I am absolutely delighted with this toy.  It is strong, sturdy, safe and secure once placed to the wall or side of the bath.  It can be used other times, just make sure you prop it up or have an adult hold it for the child.

As with any toy that comes with loose parts, you will need to make sure you supervise the child at all times.

I would most certainly recommend this toy for all the reasons I have mentioned above.  Lamaze… you’ve surpassed yourself with a great invention of such and versatile and interactive gym.
