Denby Pottery – Made in England Tableware & Cookware

Denby are a brand I have always associated with crockery so I was quite surprised to discover that they also have a home fragrance range which includes candles and diffusers.  Their candles and diffusers are hand crafted in Derbyshire and feature Denby’s unique reactive glaze which is applied by hand which makes each piece unique.  All the candle and diffuser pots are made from locally sourced stoneware clay giving them the characteristic Denby design that we all know and love.

The ceramic pots really are beautiful and as well as holding the diffuser reeds which delicately fragrance your home, they are also lovely products to have on display.

It is always a concern receiving pottery through the post, but the Denby ceramic reed diffuser was carefully packaged and arrived in perfect condition.  When I opened the outer box I found the Kiln Green ceramic reed diffuser nicely packaged in a cardboard gift box with a window at the front which enables you to see the pot which is a gorgeous green glazed colour.  The pot is a nice size and you can either buy a new fragrance once it has run out or reuse the pot as a small vase or candle holder.  If you are reusing it you can clean it by popping it in the dishwasher.

The diffuser is easy to assemble, simply pour the fragrance into the pot and then add the 10 reeds which will draw the fragrance into the air.  I usually dip the reeds into the pot before turning them over which gives an instant scent boost. Reed diffusers are not only a great way to fragrance your home they are a much safer option than candles as you don’t need to light them to release the fragrance.  The reeds release the fragrance gradually which helps to keep your home smelling wonderful all day long.

I decided to place the diffuser in our hall which is a great place to sit a reed diffuser as people walking in and out of the hall really help to circulate the fragrance.  I have put it on the windowsill and it looks really nice and can be seen as soon as you walk into the hall.  I also think it would look nice on a mantlepiece, console table or bookcase.  The diffuser is fragranced with Clary, Sage, Bergamot and Grapefruit and has scented my hallway beautifully with everyone who has visited commenting on the lovely fragrance.

It’s fair to say that at £65 this isn’t the cheapest diffuser around, but just like candles you don’t get the same lingering scent from a cheaper brand. If you take into account the fact that the pot can be reused I do feel it is definitely worth the money.

The diffuser I received was the Kiln Green diffuser but there are also a couple of other diffusers available – Blue Haze, Halo, Modus Ombre, Statements, Kiln Ceramics and Ombre so there will be one to suit any decor.  Standard delivery is £4.95 and orders over £50 with standard delivery are free.
