Dairy Diary 2022 Review

Reviewed by Cath Joyce

Back in the late 70’s and 80’s when I was growing up everyone in our village had their milk delivered in glass bottle by the milkman.  I can still remember the excitement when our Dairy Diary arrived, me and my sister would rush home from school and then sit down and look at each page, trying to decide which recipe Mum should make first.

It’s a long time since I have seen a Dairy Diary so I was quite excited when I found out that I would be reviewing the Dairy Diary 2022, luckily I didn’t need to wait long to receive my copy which arrived well packaged in cardboard and fitted easily through the letterbox.

When the Dairy Diary arrived, I was pleased to see that it is now spiral bound, this is a huge improvement, we used to have to put weights from the weighing scales on the corners to hold the diary open when we were following a recipe which was ok until we needed that particular weight!

The Dairy Diary 2022 diary is a special 40th anniversary edition and comes with a “Memorable Dates” sticker sheet so you can add stickers to the diary to highlight important dates and events. There is a good mix of stickers, plenty of celebration ones including birthday, wedding, Christening and anniversary stickers as well as stickers for doctors appointments, hairdressers and insurances. There are a couple for cars so there’s no excuse for forgetting the date of your MOT now!

The A5 diary has a clear week to view layout with a recipe and photo to look forward to every week. At the front of the diary is a handy year planner, I have a big family so find a yearly planner is invaluable for birthdays as you can see which ones are coming up at a glance. With a home budgeting section and a “Useful Reminders” section Dairy Diary have thought of everything to help busy people keep their family organised.

As well as all the usual diary pages there are also a fantastic selection of inspirational articles for home and garden. There is a list of 50 “Could do” suggestions covering lots of exciting ideas as well as a page to write your own ideas. As I have a significant birthday next year, I will be looking at this in more detail over the coming weeks.

I have had a good look at all the recipes in the diary and my mouth was watering as the recipes and food all look so tasty. I have already made the Buttery Chilli Prawn Linguine from the first week in January, which was so easy to make and tasted delicious too. A couple of recipes really caught my eye and I know I am going to enjoy trying them out in the coming year. There is also a recipe index at the back of the diary which makes it really easy to find a particular recipe.

Jam packed full of useful information and recipes this is so much more than a diary and would make a lovely Secret Santa gift or Christmas present for friends and family.
