CLEVERSTIX CHOPSTICKS

When I was asked to try the CleverstiX Chopsticks out, I was so very excited.   My youngest granddaughter, who is 7 years old, absolutely loves and adores her food. Her Mummy is always cooking dinners and lunches freshly each day and thought this would be a great way to develop her skills when trying out International cuisine as well as getting to grips (pardon the pun) lol with using chopsticks in general.

These are such fun chopsticks to use and what I love about them mainly is the control of them. Our family are very big on cognitive development and these are brilliant for this. The CleverstiX Chopsticks really do control the opening and closing of them when being used. The concentration on her face when trying them out at first was so much fun to watch and we had some giggles along the way too.

It did not take her long to master the art of using them. Holding the CleverstiX Chopsticks is liking holding a pen or pencil, it is that easy! The finger holes allows delicate little fingers to fit in them nicely whilst holding on and gripping the food.

We explained about the countries that usually use chopsticks to eat their food and she was eager to try anything she could. We showed her a video of someone eating rice with and noodles with them, she giggled and said ‘that’s not picking it up Nana’ lol and yet, she was eager to try that technique of eating rice and noodles too.

Using the ClevertstiX Chopsticks is so easy, simple and what I love about these is that they also give eye and hand co-ordination. It is a skill that can be developed quite quickly with a little time, patience and fun.

Another benefit to these is, if your child likes to use their fingers to eat, like my granddaughter does sometimes, get them to use these, apart from the skill, cognitive and co-ordination development, it is also a nicer way for them to eat as it slows them down. If your child is like my granddaughter, give her some chips and like a dog, she will woof them down, give her CleverstiX Chopsticks and these will help to slow them down.

Us adults had a Chinese take-away and it was really lovely for her to be able to use her Cleverstix Chopsticks along with us using our own chopsticks. We kept hearing ‘look, I’m like you now’. She was so proud of herself and made trying new foods even more fun than they are already.

Suitable for ages 3+

They are dishwasher safe in the top rack only if possible.

Just to point out, these are only suitable for those that are right-handed which is a shame but do not despair, there is a set that is designed for both left and right handed, here is the link.

Would I recommend the CleverstiX Chopsticks? I most certainly would and would give them a 5/5.

Prices range from £6.49 to £9.99 from Amazon. These ones are £6.49.

CLEVERSTIX FORK & SPOON SET

When I was asked to try the CleverstiX Fork and Spoon Set, I was really very excited as I had already tried and tested the CleverstiX Chopsticks with my 7 year old granddaughter who loved them, so, what better way to experiment on yet more national and international cuisines by using these set.

My youngest granddaughter, who is 7 years old, absolutely loves and adores her food. Her Mummy is always cooking dinners and lunches freshly each day and thought this would be a great way to develop her skills when trying out International cuisine as well as getting to grips (pardon the pun) lol with using fork and spoon set in general.

This is a fantastic cutlery set to use as my granddaughters Mummy makes a lot of spaghetti, courgette and boodles (boodles is noodles/spaghetti made from butternut squash)

Our family are very big on cognitive development and these are brilliant for this. The CleverstiX Fork and Spoon set really do help with the concentration of spiralling the spaghetti or noodles onto the spoon whilst using the fork to twist them.

Like the CleverstiX Chopstix, it did not take my granddaughter very long to master the art of using them. The strong silicone makes it easy to hold and grip without any slippage and the stainless steel is very strong, this is very important when twisting the spaghetti and noodles onto the spoon.

We showed my granddaughter a video of someone eating spaghetti bolognese.  This is one her of favourite dishes, so could not wait to cook this for her to try this cutlery set out. She is also a great helper in the kitchen, as well as a student; as we teach her about where the food comes from, how it is grown and cooked. She could not wait to try her new cutlery set. Needles to say, she tried, tested and liked the CleverstiX Fork and Spoon set with her bolognese. Yes, it got a little messy at times to begin with but she soon mastered the art of it. In her own words ‘I now feel all grown up like you, Mummy and Daddy now’. Bless her.

Using the ClevertstiX Fork and Spoon set is very easy and simple to use. As always, I absolutely love the fact that it teaches eye and hand co-ordination and a skill that can be developed quite quickly with a little time, patience and fun.
