Childs Farm Little Essentials Kit Review

This little kit (RRP £10) has everything you need for a break away, a visit to family at Christmas, a trip to the pool or even a holiday to somewhere hot and sunny.
The Childs Farm Little Essentials Kit contains 4x50ml bottles of some of the best (in my opinion anyway) products on the market for babies and children. Included is the bestselling moisturiser, a hair and body wash, a 3 in 1 after swim wash and a hair detangler. All of the products are suitable for sensitive and eczema prone skin and also suitable from newborn. They come in a handy little bag too that is great for keeping them all together and can be used after for anything you can think of.
The moisturiser is brilliant, it leaves skin feeling smooth and nourished without being heavy or greasy, it has a light scent and is perfect for a quick massage before bed or even to put on during the day on any dry or rough skin.
I use it on my nearly 6 year old son who suffers with eczema, he is especially bad at this time of the year with it behind his knees and the bottom of his back. After a few days of using this the redness has gone and he says it is no longer itchy and sore. I also use it on my daughter who is 2, she likes to spend the day walking around with her tongue hanging out like a puppy, this means that she gets a horrible dribble rash all across her chin, I use this moisturiser on her when she has fallen asleep and smooth it on (if she’s awake she licks it off!), by the time she has woken up it has worked its magic and she is looking much better, ready to do the same again the following day! I also use it on my hands, if I have dry skin from pushing the pushchair in all weathers I pop some of this on before bed and in the morning again things are looking and feeling much better.
Next up is the hair and body wash, this contains organic sweet orange oil which makes it smell amazing, it also contains argan oil to help leave hair soft and tangle free.
This wash is great, it does exactly what it says, it gets little rascals nice and clean, it leaves them smelling fresh and their skin lovely and soft. It also leaves my daughters crazy curly hair relatively tangle free and makes it slightly easier to brush.
The 3 in 1 hair to toe after swim wash was tried next, this one is scented with strawberries and organic mint and again smells good enough to eat!
It works a treat too and gets my messy monsters squeaky clean and smelling just as sweet. The great thing with these washes are that they don’t affect my sons skin, they don’t bother the eczema and he gets to enjoy a nice bath with his brother and sister without me worrying that he is going to be in any discomfort afterwards.
Last but not least has to be my favourite, the hair detangler, as I mentioned above my daughter has crazy curly hair, she often looks like she has been dragged through 20 bushes backwards, then forward, before coming back again. Her hair is incredibly fine and matts very easily, making it nearly impossible to get a brush through without the help of a detangling product. I have spent the last year looking for something that would get the tangles out, smells nice and leaves her hair feeling smooth and natural and not sticky.
I’m pleased to say we have finally found ‘the one’ the grapefruit and organic tea tree oil leaves her hair smelling fresh, as an added bonus head lice also dislike the smell as much as I love it!
I could get a brush through it with very little effort and once her hair had dried it felt completely natural and not at all sticky.
This is one we are going to have to stock up on, the other great thing is that it can be used on wet or dry hair, so you don’t have to remember to use it straight after the bath.
All in all this is a great little set and comes in handy for almost any outing, overnight stay or holiday. It would be an amazing stocking filler present or gift for a little one for Christmas, a baby shower present or gift for new parents. It’s a great little set for the grandparents house, the holiday wash bag or to pop in the swimming bag.
I will certainly be getting some replacements once these run out, once again Childs Farm have made a great range of products in a handy little reusable bag that smell incredible and do exactly as they promise and for such small bottles they last much longer than you would think, the other lovely thing is that the bottles are actually full.
They also have the Happy Skin Promise (you can see more about this on the products and on the website www.childsfarm.com) so you know that they are gentle and kind enough for even the youngest and most sensitive of skin.
We can’t wait until bath time!
